Mini-avatars used to be pretty fun... I dunno if they make the site look better or worst, though. Opinions?

It's a little 15x15 pisture that goes to the left of your name. I liked them, especially in the list of active members at the bottom.

Sounds cool, not much you can put into a 15x15 image though...Oh well, more image fun :).

For those who are a bit newer BF used to have "mini avatars" along iwth the regular avatars that would show up next to your name in "whos online" and along with your Username in posts.
It was there for quite awhile but was removed for whatever reason.
And blasphemy! Mog fits quite nicely :)
-Neo
I don't see them as coming here.

Yeah, it sounds like a lot of unnecessary clutter to me. Half the members probably wouldn't even use it because they couldn't think of anything to put in a 15x15 space.
Awe oh well. They were really fun :)
you can do quite a bit with 15x15... ;P

Those with a bit of imagination can do quite a bit with 15x15 pixels, actually ;)
I'm impartial to whether we get them or not; if we do, I'll dig out my old one and use that - if we don't, I'm already over it ;)

*shudder* but designing themes for it is really really really really hard... O.O

I think it's hard for you cuz you suxx0r at it. ;) :D
Not like I've tried making a theme though, but neither have you, really, you just put new graphics into an existing template, basically. :D

Haha, I remember my noob days when I couldn't even get a table to show properly.
Oh wait, I had that problem yesterday with the adsense

I hate tables... If I ever get around to making my website I must remember to avoid them and just define quasi-cells via the secksyness of CSS. Different browsers can display them differently, and padding has always given me some trouble.

Yup, I hate tables too. :( But I'm too stupid to learn CSS :ninja:
Maybe when/if I redesign Fenguin, I'll use CSS. :)
What? Tables are your god!
Seriously though.
Ive started rewriting that lame subSilver with my own template (I really dont want to like make my own from scratch lol) and its not to hard...
Basically you just learn what the different {} thingers mean and stick them in the right place. The hardest part for my will be in deciding how to display postbits/etc... and then how/when to edit the CSS definitions.
Actually its easier then I thought. And tables arent to hard... Personally I have fallen in love with the "border=0 padding=x" stuff... hehe.
I use it on www.kupatrix.com -- and I made DAMNED sure the stupid thing displays in IE the same way it does in netscape (cept for the base-color scrollbar attribute -- bite me)
I am not to into CSS, but I can edit it/use it whenever the spirit so moves me lol
-Neo
mm, i love css. =]
Maybe to much if you ask me. I HATE absolute positioning ;( but then again, I fell in love with tables (not sure which is worse -.-)
Hehe, Oh well. The forum work will give me practice though, I dont use CSS nearly as often as I should...
-Neo
aww come on, CSS is a miracle worker sometimes. Plus it's just fun. =]
Isn't Mini Avatars the size of AIM Buddy Icons? I think they better then the big avatars.
