There is this site www.danasoft.com that has all these cool stuff.I wanted to put one in my sigy but I cant.Is there any way to put it in?

<a href="http://www.danasoft.com"><img src="http://www.danasoft.com/citysign.jpg" border="0"></a><p><div style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;font-size:11px;">Sign by Dealighted - <a href="http://www.dealighted.com">Coupons and Deals</a></p></div>

Is that this HTML code is : OFF in the bottom left of the screen?
If so then could you please turn it on?

No, those kind of things are disabled. Even [IMG] tags are disabled. So there's no possible way to link your sig to an outside source.

For future reference all you need out of that code is the image url in this case; http://www.danasoft.com/citysign.jpg

so you would do this:

http://www.danasoft.com/citysign.jpg

However warboards currently disallows outside urls for sigs.

Right. And since the citysign.jpg file is a 'dynamically changing / request adaptive' file, vBulletin can't process the main file or the non-image (which is non existent), thus disallowing you to upload it to the WarBoards database.

So to WarinSerbia, this is how it works.
Your browser sends 'GET' to the file. www.danasoft.com, the file server will catch your IP address, look it up on the IANA directory, process your ISP, then make the file according to your details. In other words, the file doesn't really exist, but is created when your browser asks the server for it.

You could monkey with the image and get it to say whatever you wanted it to say and then upload the image as a [sigpic]

Yeah, but that's not... fun in a way it is supposed to be.

How about increasing the sigy/avy limit from 80 to 90?
There's a animation (gif) I found but its size is 88 kb's :(.I can upload it but it will not play the animation...
Also,my trick with paint doesent work.Is there a tool that could lower the size of the gif file and not doing anything to it(or maybe lowering quality)?

Try using Adobe Imageready.

Some of us do not have access to hundred+ dollar software, FrankZ. WarInSerbia, post the picture you want in your avatar here and maybe I can resize it for you.

Gimp + GAP does Gif animation. Just throwing that out...

gimp should die lol. >.>;;

Animated stuff is annoying avatars or signatures, and i'd rather not be subjected to them while browsing.

Sometimes they are ok, when subtle or "cool" but the bigger ones are usually pretty lame.

A good way to trim filesize is to trim the actual size of the file, but again you'd need an image program that can handle animations.

I can't imagine why you would want that in your sig or your av. How pointless.

Anyway, I don't see how that is related to your opening post.

First I wanted that where you live in my sigy,but then I found out that the size limit is too low pliz can you do this for me?

I'l tell you what you want about Sarajevo :)

I'l tell you what you want about Sarajevo :)

No thanks, I know all I need to know about Saravejo.

And when you need those large animated pics for your av, we ordinary members can't help you out. AJ's the one who controls the file size limits.

They were just increased.
Nor do I feel they are that small.

This would be the best solution:
Height=150
Width=150
Size=Unlimited
Why are we so limited with avys?

FrankZ
04-24-2008, 4:28 AM
Because it isn't easy to pull out some bucks to pay for server storage.

Neo

Because it's tacky is what it is, there is no reason anyone should ever have a 100kb+ AVATAR.

There is no reason you need to have some giant 500kb+ animated avatar.

Good bye bandwidth!

cause animated avys would detract from the wonderful content of your posts.
