I FINALLY GOT STARCRAFT BACK WITH MY CD KEY ^_^, but is muted because my friend tried to "hack" while borrowing it..and losing it...
but anywho, I forgot how to use Map maker so, I was thinking, I was thinking of making a bound map, but i'm not sure how, just a simple one. Which map making Tools should I use? and how would I make the explosions? like what triggers, effects, and stuff? and also, is it possible to make a terran go faster than normal without the use of stim?if so, how

What you can do with mapping:
1. Change the cost of EVERYTHING in the game.
2. Code for events (This is referred to as triggering).
3. Change the building speed of everything that builds in the game (don't go lower than 1/4, SC will crash if you do so).
4. Decide which units, buildings, abilities, and upgrades are available to each player.
5. Change names of every unit.
6. Edit forces and alliances.
7. Toggle players.
8. Make the terrain anyway you want (although you can use only 1 tileset due to color restrictions).
9. Place any unit for any player.
And that about sums up most of it. Just read the tutorials or Map & Mods FAQ.

SCMDraft? Just play around with it. You'll learn fast enough. It isn't complicated or anything.

u should get scmdraft or starforge for your bound, cause they can make square terrain. If you need help with the triggers, say so :)

Stay the hell away from Starforge. Use SCMdraft. Ten times better.
I agree, and I have barely tried on either of them. Starforge was frightening right from the install, where it asks to overwrite some files in Windows' system32 folder. And then it didn't even start. . .

Mapping really isn't that hard, it is the triggering part thats hard, there is a lot to know, and a lot of tricks to learn. (UMS Mapping).
