...And finally some unfortunate news for gamers the world over tonight, as Half-Life 2: Episode 3 has already been confirmed as delayed.
Planet Half-Life reports:

So, discuss...good or bad? Will this alienate many players? Will it make no difference by 2010? Is Crysis the best we can do? Is Source on its last legs and this is the final haul?
Discuss! Question! Get mad! Episode 3 is delayed until 2010! That's an outset miss of almost three years!

Gaah, Frack. Nice find.
..."Note: While it may not top our Pink Lady prank, this is our entry for April Fool's 2008 in the Half-Life community. There is no release date set for Episode 3, and while there more than likely will be engine upgrades, it won't be to that extreme of a level. Everything else posted today is true, however."
Figures. I'm pretty gullible. Nobody really cared much about April fools in real life so I figured there wouldn't be much on the 'net, but...still, if this happened, what would you do?

Haha. That's actually kind of funny.
But no, to answer your question anyways (in case anybody still cares) I don't think it would be a bad move for them to delay Episode 3 at all. I mean, The Orange Box gave us enough with Portal and Team Fortress 2 to keep us happy for a long time, and I'd rather have the folks at Valve make Episode 3 all that it can be rather then release updates later.
I'm all for delays as long as they are made with reasonable merit and for a decent amount of time. Then again, we're all still waiting for Duke Nuke 'Em: Forever and Starcraft: Ghost, aren't we? (Actually, I think Starcraft: Ghost was taken off of Blizzard's list of current projects, so as of now, it's no longer in production. Duke Nuke 'Em: Forever, however holds the crown at the longest delayed video game: over 10 years!)

MAJOR QUESTION!! I'm having trouble with HL2: Ep. 2. I recently bought both that and Ep. 1. Ep 1 works perfectly fine, but not the second. When I load it, it has the new Valve symbol of the valve on the back of the bald guy's head, then it has the blurry image and says "Loading." About the time when it would normally be completed, the game crashes..
I reinstalled the game many many times, yet it still doesn't work. BTW, this game was bought and DL'd from Steam servers, not from CD or anything.

Verify your Game Cache File, defragment it through Steam, etc,. Have you looked at valve support for this yet? They probably have it on their site somewhere.
What are your specs?
Thanks for hijacking this thread, by the way. You should have made a whole new thread.

I have verified GFC and defragmented it several times. I have not taken a close look at Valve support, but I should, you're right.
Specs aren't that bad.
This is a laptop, but good specs.
RAM is 2038MB (~2 GB)
Processor is Intel Dual CPUs 1.72 GHz each
HDD is 160 GB
Video card is not high-end, but it is Direct X 9 capable. It runs other Source games perfectly fine, although there is lag that comes with an average video card and a laptop running such games..
OS is Windows Vista Home Premium
System type is 32-bit OS.
What other specs do you need?? BTW, I also tried installing when having Norton Internet security completely turned off and access to all Steam and related programs set on "Allow always."
The details for the crash is "APPCRASH".

Sorry, I can't help you...you really oughta post this on the Valve support forums. Anyone else have a suggestion?
