Agreed.
I think we need to get another Hero Class in WoW:WotLK.
Keep in mind I said a "Hero Class", not a "Guitar Hero".
Some people seem a bit confused.
The console port was also a very good April Fools prank.
"IN LUSH 2D ENVIRONMENTS, 9 UNIQUE BOSS MODELS, ABLE TO MOVE IN 8 UNIQUE DIRECTIONS"
Roflmao.

I knew the joining of activision with blizzard would reflect blizzards games, next we will see WoW people in Guitar hero.
I think this hero class will be the reason for me to Lich King, I wonder what lvl the quest for it is started and i wonder if they will be too imba in duels.
My mind is spinning with questions.
I am so totally making one of these

I can only hope Dayoh isn't that 'strange' in the head.
Come on, Blizzard would obviously prank us for April Fools, the fact that ANYONE could think it was real makes me shudder.

Personally, I don't think that many people a) noticed it b) cared.
Which is too bad, but I know that's the case around here it seems.

Yeah, to be honest, I've never played Diablo or Diablo II. Starcraft was my first Blizzard game, then I worked backwards to Warcraft, Warcraft II, and then into Warcraft II and WoW. Diablo, despite it's cult-classic reputation and select fan following, I just kind of passed over. I have considered buying the battle chest, however.

With the merging of Activision and Blizzard -- I am not sure it would be fair to write this off as a joke so quickly. I think a Bard Hero class with a guitar hero like method of playing would show a huge success in the WoW world.
While it was obviously an april fools prank -- let us not forget that the last April Fools prank of Archimonde and the Wisp for the "new" race for BC. The joke was the wisp, but the eredar that was featured in that picture actually made it as the new race. Interesting, I think.

If the bard could play 'thing called love', that'd be pretty messy, or how 'bout 'pulse of the maggots', for 'unholy specialisation' in the 'metal' talent tree? :P
Sorry, I'm still into slipknot. I apologize dearly.
Also remember back in the day: The 'goblin tinker' hero, and the 'pandaren brewmaster'. Those actually all made it in Wc3, and hell there was even this creep that looked somewhat akin to a panda that was a bear skin! Not to mention the 'panda gang bang' was pretty much just taking a swarm of pandas and pwning like one unit, which can be done. So frankly, all the Wc3 'pranks' have been made way existential, duders.
It's scary if they decide to come up with some shitty molten core game that's freeware and can be ported to linux and technically played on PS3 (ultimately meaning blizz has made it to console).

Alright, I can't determine if you're being serious or posting this in a tongue-in-cheek manner, but I find it hard to believe that such a class as shown could exist in any way, shape, or form to follow the lore of warcraft at all.
Exactly what would you be "rocking out to" anyway? The latest hit from the three gnomes? smashtroll?
I mean really.
I'd rather see new classes (heros or not) such as a revist to the Pandarans, or to see goblins step up or something. A bard? Like guitar hero or something?
Wtf. Go play the actual console game seriously. "Hold on guys, I gotta get this right" -- talk about an extremely slow class to play/level.
Besides, how irritating would it be to hear "songs" from a bard class before you just get pissed off and smash your speakers?

I am simply saying that I think Blizzard has been shown to use their pranks as actual easter-egg releases.
And how hard would it be to include Bard's lorewise? Bards have existed in this real world (albeit without magical powers) why couldn't they exist in a make believe one? Shit -- Dungeons and Dragons have ALWAYS had bards.
Also -- I don't see everyone being against the port. It seems almost an inevitability the way guitar hero has been steadily gaining its following. Though, you are right, I don't see the bard actually being included.
Well bards are one thing, ie: playing musical instruments to buff themselves or allies, however, trying to introduce modern rock/other genres of "music" (even if they are only clips) would seem at extreme odds with the warcraft universe.
I mean, it's one thing to have a bard -- you seem to be specifically talking about a guitar-wielding clone from GH. Which would be really stupid.
Plus, come on. I would much prefer to see them pull out the Pandarans and a race to go along with it. Or to even merge the Warcraft/Diablo worlds in some manner (ie: the legion discover sanctuary or something else equally absurd) then see Blizzard sell out and include some guitar-hero clone hero thing.
Or you know, the emerald dream. like, they mentioned that what back in 2003? Seriously. My druid is tired, he wants to sleep :(
Besides, come on, we all know we'd really want Molten Core.
A bard class that fits in with the lore? Sure. One that "rocks out" and uses a guitar? No.

I wasn't saying there aren't better things to include, Neo, its just that it didn't seem far fetched of an idea to include a bard as a hero class with guitar hero-esque mechanics. Maybe not with rocks songs or whatever -- but that general mechanic. I don't see why that is so hard for you or anyone else to even conceive?
EDIT: also, in a game with Gnomish death rays, flying machines, dynamite, and all that, why would rock music not fit in lore-wise?

T-Dawg, you have some bad points, and some good points.
Regardless;
the day that a Bard class is included in WoW is the same day that I, and I'm sure many others, will quit. I'm tired of these rockstar wanabes. Alright, alright, Rockband and GH are fun, sure, but spending days practicing just for bragging rights makes me want to throttle these "stars".

Yes two both of your questions War.
These were April Fools jokes, and I doubt they'll be anything more.
I can see Blizzard implementing some kind of equibable lute or guitar, as alot of games have done, that allow you to play music. However, I don't think the Bard Class will ever become a reality.

I think that a bard class would be alot of work, because you would need to make a sound for each and every spell you did, and seeing as they're bards, the sounds would probably be longer than your average casting sound. Speaking of casting, 90% of the spells would have to be casting.

Well they DID anounce a delay of it.
In 2007 it was april/may 2008 now its oktober/end of the year...
TDawg my point was that unless blizzard was going to create new rock-based tracks for wow, then it would be pointless to include a GH-like clone for WoW.
Tell me exactly how ok it would be lore wise if a song by, say the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was added in some manner to the bards set.
I could see if we are talking about flutes, drums, simple stringed instruments, etc... (to some extent these exist in wow anyway) but full out "rocking" -- no thanks.
