Life's hard out here for a dog (OPEN ENDED RP)

This is an open ended RP involving typical realistic civilian characters, violence, sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. It's open ended in that the winner is the last one standing.

The universe in particular is California. Common laws and bylaws exist. Society is basically a simulation of real life. And nearly anything can happen. If you park where you shouldn't park there's a chance you get fined. If you punch the guy who fined you in the stomach, he'll call for back up and if they catch you, you'll spend the night in a holding cell. You can spend years and years in jail and get your gang buddies to break or bail you out. You could start a small business and grow it into a multinational corporation (if given enough time). You could hack the pentagon, commit identity fraud, get pursued consistently by the FBI or become a whore (we might not get into details on that one, but the GM, AKA me, will probably state whether or not you transcended to a crack whore :D). The vast majority of people will be named npcs obviously (and you'll find more and more names if you keep asking random people on the street for them, ie.), otherwise a game like this will be very difficult to keep open ended.

The winner is the last one standing. The best way to achieve that goal is to achieve other goals; say, having the most money, having the most backers, having the most restraining orders, having the most weaponry and freedom to abuse rights, etc.

Everyone starts out unemployed with 10,000 dollars in a savings account in whichever bank you choose (there'll be different banks so that we can include surcharges for different ATM's). Everyone will have a one floor apartment (which means everyone has to pay rent; I might need advice on typical minimum costs of rent in real life), and have a maximum accumulated asset value of 8,000 dollars.

Maximum age is 50. You can be any ethnicity. You can be a foreigner. You can be a terrorist. But, remember, you must be unemployed and you must state in your character back story why you became unemployed. Maximum education is high school diploma.

Everyone will have a resume, SIN, PIN, other misc. identification, driver's license (simply state whether you have one; you can gain bonus perks for not having one though), but not a credit card (no instant source of income). At the beginning of the game, you can apply for a job, apply for EI, or apply for welfare and party with your hobo buddies. It doesn't matter what you do. If you die, you lose, it's that simple.

And no, you don't instantly win if you overthrow the governator. :P

More Info: For character identification in-game, you'll all recieve numbers (not to scale; ie., phone numbers aren't necessarily 10 digits) that fit to things such as credit card number, access card number, license plate, phone number, etc. I'll pm you each these numbers. So if your character loses the number in game, you must provide the number to recieve a replacement of said identification. If you give the number to someone else, then that person can pm me the number to commit good ol' identity fraud. I'll be keeping track of everything, but it's up to you to remember everything involving char identity (some things might not need remembering, such as phone number, drivers' license, and the amount of cash in a bank account; these things can be referred to in-game and shared with others safely).

While sitting around with the 82nd Airborne during the late 1990's, Matt learned how to be a Paratrooper. After Serving, he was Honorably discharged. The only other thing I'd recommend is personality. That about concludes the 'other stuff' you might wanna add, and then you're character will be included. :D

That's good enough west, now the last thing I'm assuming is is that this guy has at least a 1 room apartment. Don't forget to list a general location either (say L.A., ie., and then we can determine regional conditions; ie., suburb, urban area, low side of town, living in a subway, etc.). That about sums up character description.

EDIT: And oh snap, there's one thing I forgot to mention (I'm terrible at this): Assets!

That's right, assets. In your character description, you must include a list of assets that your character currently owns. It may only add up to 8 grand so remember that (there's some exceptions, like if your character has the wits to find items below retail value; no gang association allowed until game begins). Be sure to list where each item is stored for the beginning of the game (ie., closet of 1-room apartment, on the floor by your bed, in your car, in your travel bag).
