I want to try to make a mod in which every shot has a % chance to cause a bleeding wound that medics have to restore. So far my only ideas for making this work are pleague and irridate. Unfortunatly I can't figure out how to decrees the pleagues splash damage down to only one unit (I have tried changing the .grp and I have tried making the weapons splash range 0 [which it is at default]) and I don't know how to make Irridate not damage nearby units. Any ideas or suggestions?

Yea, that didn't change anything... and changing the explosion type to normal makes both plague and Irradiate into powerful, instantaneous attacks...

Of course it wouldn't; it's the explosion type that controls how the plague range works. And given that I don't see you editing the explosion type, you're likely going to have to scrap that idea. You could alternatively turn most infantry units into walking unit-buildings, and then set their "Terran burn" function at whatever percentage HP you want, and replace the terran flames with a zerg bleeding animation. It wouldn't be random, but after they take a set amount of damage, they would slowly bleed to death if not cared for, and that's just as good in my opinion.

why, terran, why not zerg ? but if it would be zerg bldg, there would be no burn to death. overall, nice idea. but, you wont be needing the medics to restore them.
in my opinion, irridate stuff and plague are hardcored, there are only few things you could change about them. so that's kinda difficult.

Yeah.

just for info, you could replace the plague cloud cause it's in graphics but the irridate it's animation is in the explosion, so you would probably need to edit the irridate graphics.

You *could* also use the firebat, change the plague graphics to burning, and have the firebat catch people on fire for damage over time, then it would work better because marines that make people bleed would make more trouble when trying to fix it when you have it attack air.

Good lord people, come on.
He's not even asking about catching people on fire anyway. He's trying to make units bleed and lose health over time.
make more trouble when trying to fix it when you have it attack air.
You realize that there are seperate weapon entries and iscripts for ground attack and for air attack? From what I've heard, I don't think he even really plans to have air units anyway.

The Terran building idea is probably the best. Checking "Flying Building" will give it the burn down without any other adverse effects.

Except maybe flying :P
What adverse effects are you referring to, though?

I was giving him an idea, and i havn't modded in a long time so i forgot that there were different attacks for air and ground :O
Don't get so worked up over a little post.
Otherwise, I don't have any ideas on how to get the bleeding to work I had an idea for something easier

I wasn't angry at your post in particular, I'm just frustrated by so many half-baked, redundant, and unrelated posts.

I just had a quick idea, in-case he scrapped the bleed idea.
But otherwise, i don't think i had modded quite that much recently to know how to help with the bleed effect, a more advanced modder might help you more, yet they seem to avoid posting in this topic :O.
I wasn't much help so ill leave this topic alone, no point in returning here, :P

i dont know where you got this idea, but i have a mod with this that the firebat burns units or cast plague on them when its attacking and you dont see the plague cloud. and it's successful.

Sounds about right, I guess.
I got the idea from the top of my head but If it came from your mod then its a coincidence and i apologize.
I think either he solved the prob, scrapped it, or is just away now. This topic seems almost dead now.
I was messing around with the modding programs again and havn't found much because i need to re-familiarize myself but if i find anything then ill post i guess.

It didn't. Don't worry about it.
I'm sure just about every modder has tried that by now. He's deploying for Afghanistan soon, so he's not too active.

yeah, no one knows who's idea is it. anyone could think of the same thing, only the first one to make a successful concrete output of it can claim of it.
