Does anyone here have both? How does starforge stack up against SCMDraft?
I have Starforge, and it's a very good editor - however, I'm annoyed at how hard it is to create terrain, so I'm forced to create the terrain with staredit before finishing it with starforge...
Any opinions/suggestions???

First let me say it is not good to compare the two editors because they both have their ups and downs.
Starforge only has 3 things Scm Draft doesn't.
Scm Draft does however work better, more user friendly, and gets updates.
Starforge well only thing good about it is easier to make location sizes and EUD's.
Scm Draft 2 is coming out with another update to fix all current bugs and should SI is thinking about adding a few Starforge things if that happens then SF will be useless.
Simply put, for what you're desiring just stick with SCMDraft 2. ;) The problem with SF is that it processes ISOM terrain in a different way than the other most known editors, such as SCXE, and it many times screws over maps with its out of the usual terrain processing. My advice is for you to simply stick up with SCMDraft 2 since it covers all the useful stuff that SF can do (apart that unit placement/movement thing through coordinates for example) and it can even do some stuff better than SF.

Hmm, I just checked out SCMDraft2 and have a couple more questions - is the string table the same as triggers in Starforge? And can SCMDraft 2 place square terrain?
Yes, it sure can place squared terrain (swap the isometrical option in the box for the other option). And the string table has nothing to do with both its trigger editors. Just look at the program's menu. *Cough*"Triggers"*Cough* ;)

Ah, I see thanks. What exactly does the string table do? I've been using starforge for 2 years and I still have no idea what it's used for. :/

Strings are what displays during game when you run out of those your screwed.Starforge just so happens to.Scm Draft2 doesn't since it has string recycle and has fixed the string error bug.
