Phantom - The best FFA game you'll ever play.

A guy I regularly game with introduced us to this - it's called Phantom. Basically, it's FFA, and there's a timer at the top. You start off with vision of everyone. One player gets a shit ton of gas and gold right from the get-go. Then, once the timer runs out, you lose vision of the phantom and you all need to gang up and kill the phantom.

Here's the map. Have fun, it's pretty addicting once you get a regular group going on it. Don't forget to deally/devision the Phantom (I can't remember if it does that for you). It's on The Hunters map.

Yeah. I think I played the very first version of it, the day it was released. Pretty fun but gets boring. In some versions, the phantom isn't revealed and you have to figure it out for yourself by killing suspicous guys 1 by 1. Unfortunatly, most versions these days are money map versions.
There were 3 players including myself. The guy I suspected was phantom was urging me to attack the other guy who was attacking me. Then I went all crazy and I didn't attack back , and urged the guy attacking me to attack the suspicous guy. We won. What a crazy game.

Yeah, I like versions where the Phantom isn't revealed, which gives the phantom more options for using mind games against the others.

I played lots of Phantom games back then - the version where you weren't revealed.

It only works if your opponents are gm. I've seen loads of games go to hell because of noobs going gm and blaming everybody and starting fucking up badly.

I've even seen someone mineralhack because otherwise it wasn't fair - after all, the phantom got a lot of cash, so it's rigged, right? He forgot that the phantom has to fend of like 5 more ppl.
Also, if you're better than the random BNET noob, you get the finger pointed at you rather fast.

Most phantoms games I've won was by pitting people against each other...the longest I think lasted 2 hours. XD

But Phantom is technically a UMS map. :p
