2v2 Players

I'm looking for any warboards members that want to start up a little 2v2 circuit. The 2v2 community on battlenet is so bm and the skill range is so drastic that playing random public games is a waste of time more often than not. If there are any other 2v2 players ranging in skill from complete noobs to average players, and want to play some friendly competition, pm me or post in this thread. Maybe we can get a little 2v2 Noobs tournament started, or just have a battlenet channel where we'll be able to find some fun gm games. This all depends on the amount of responses of course.

Great! :) Skill level is completely irrelevent, this is gonna be just to get some fun gm games going, so dont worry if you dont think you're that good. I'd rather have players that are just learning 2v2 as opposed to experienced players, just to keep everything fair.

By the way, I've played you before, you're not so awful. :P Maybe we can be partners if this turns into a tournament?

Race: Trying to learn Terran, Although my Protoss is by far better I have been playing only Terran for 2v2's and I have ok strategies

I know what you mean about the ICCUP thing, you either get a decent partner and 2 ridiculous opponents or a shit partner and two average opponents... then lose anyway:(

This thing is all about getting a bunch of players that just want some competetive balance and gm.

I'll play. I think once we get enough people, we should split up into teams based on skill. Put a stronger player with a weaker one so that we don't have too many one-sided matches, then we could do like a round robin tourney so each team gets to play each other, and then the two teams with the best record after round robin will play 2 out 3 for the championship.

Ideally that's what will happen, if we can get enough players to join, and get over the whole barrier of getting all 4 players online at once to play each individual game.

The new rule for joining is that you must submit one replay of yourself in a 2v2 game.

Dont post your very best game to look good, or your worst game to get a better teammate, just post an average game of yours, preferably using your main race.

I'll see if I can't get someone to be a replay judge and make the teams based on the replays everyone submits.

This is a random public game I just played, I played these guys a couple times and each time had one of those "teach me how to starcraft!" teammates, if you get what I mean.

Well, I suppose each person could post a replay of themselves and then it would be fairly easy to split up the teams as far as skill is concerned. For instance, I probably wouldn't put the teams like you said. Although I haven't seen anderoo or neobowman play, I think it would be better if one of them were teamed with Grog and one with you, but we should get more people on board (and more opinions as far as team lineups) before we set anything in stone.

Assuming all of you are on eastern standard time, can everyone come online this weekend at night? I can play basically any time 9 p.m. to whenever i fall asleep on the keyboard Friday or Saturday night. If enough of us can get online we can play a bunch of games and mix up the teams and find fair combinations. We still need more players though, so if you know anyone that could play, we would at least have an even number of players. Hopefully there are more responses by the weekend.

Yeah, my nick is Cpt.Chronic @ USEast. I just logged on and played a game that was a fairly lengthy 2v2 so I'll post the replay. I'm somewhat decent, not quite fully decent though. I let my macro slip a lot in this game, and I had a pretty boneheaded play in this game when I first attacked Terran's main, both of which are fairly normal for me :(

Nah, one of the opponents was hosting a game called "2v2 Good Players" which I guess is why neither team had a noob like in your game. I think your partner made more cannons than he did units :o , but you did well for having having to play 2v1, although your opponents didn't have very good teamwork (could have ended the game much earlier if they actually attacked at same time).

Amen to that PaiN. I wish I had the latency to be able to play 2v2 on Europe, Ahzz says it's a much higher skill level than East. It's sort of embarrassing to be an East player with the reputation it has as being one of the shittiest servers skill-wise.

Yeah, that was just target practice. Not like I care about APM, but they had a combined apm of 36... which makes them the most idle 2v2 team I have ever played...

Maybe he's afraid of losing because he would get one of the lesser skilled players :o, but honestly, if he and ahzz joined it would probably entice others to join because they may get teamed up with one of them. I mean, who wouldn't want to play on Ahzz's or lammy's team?

I dont think that for Ahzz and Lamma this would have much practical application. We would just be target practice for them until they got matched up against eachother.

Besides, they can play ICCUP and get the kind of matches we're looking for here.

Actually I dont like 2v2 all that much, and I must admit that I suck at it bad. Of course this is relative but when compared to any user who can macro and micro about as good as I do but who is experienced in 2v2 I appear terrible.

Also I must say in honour of east public that during last 40 games Ive played 2 good players. Another one lost close 30min game and another one - A ranked toss by his own words and I think I believe him - raped me so bad I had to uninstall sc. Jesus christ Ive played A ranked users before too but I got fucking smashed. So I guess I must limit laughing a bit now.

Haha I love team melee. Most of the games I've played seem to have high lag though. I once saved burrow research money for muta harass by using sieged tanks :D. I'm trying to get a decent 2vs2 game to grab a replay of but I can't really find anything.

I'm having the same problem, over the last couple of weeks I've seen Cpt. Chronic on once, Grog on a couple times, but have only played once, and Fwb.Pain on once. I can play basically any night for the next week because of march break, so if anyone wants to play on USEast/ICCUP tonight anytime from 9p.m. - whenever post a message here with what time and server you can be on.

so there is a replay of each race in 2v2 in order of Zerg [middle race], Terran [worst race], and Protoss [best race].
then there is a 1v1 of me doing PvZ [both using our best races].
