Anyone know where to find charts listing the damage type, damage reductions and relative speed of each unit? I know they exist somewhere, but googling "Damage Chart" + Starcraft seems to only give me World of Warcraft pages.

Edit: I dug up an old post from 2006 which used to have this information, but I can no longer find it there. http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=16176&highlight=unit+speed

well you could always list them manually, if your patient. im sure that's what the person who made it did. you just need dat edit for the unit stats, and icecc the animination ticks and move.

I'm making an ultimate unit guide, but that probably won't be finished for a month or two, your best bet right now is battle.net.

http://www.maplantis.org/index.php?wiki=74 for damage.
http://doodle77.dyndns.org/tutorials.php?id=161 for unit speed.

For future reference, the maplantis wiki is a great place to find random stuff like this. SEN's tutorial database (http://www.staredit.net/?p=tutorials) has some good information, and Doodle77[MM] hosted SEN 4.1's old tutorials (http://doodle77.dyndns.org/tutorials.html), so that's another place to look.

Hope this helps.

for the damage calculation in that link, how is it computed if 5 zerglings with 10 atk each atk a bldg with 50 armor, how much dmg thus that bldg take? -zero?

i know in datedit under the units tab on the basic tab in the other properties unit size set to independent it would take at least one point of attack

No, If the unit being attacked has greater armor than the unit attacking it than 1/2 damage is dealt by the unit. 5 zerglings with 10 attack could attack a building with 10 armor and would only do 2.5 if they all attacked simultaneously. Each unit that is attacking is modified.

yes, if they attacked simultaneously, would all 5 zerglings attack summed up to 50? then its equal to the bldgs armor 50, so zero. . do i understand it right?

No no no, thats not how it works. Each unit is modified individually, their attack isn't added at all. 5 zerglings with 10 attack attacking 1 time is equal to 1 zergling with 10 attack attacking 5 times. StarCraft views it like this:
damage dealt from a single unit - armor => units total HP - what the result from the previous. And this formula is carried out for each and every unit individually. If your in a large battle. Thats a lot of calculations.

oh, so its done per hit of per individual unit. but how come the bldg with 50 armor eventually has its hp down to 0 after time when all 5 zerglings with 10 atk each attack it continously? but if its only 1 sergling that bldg will never gets it hp down to zero ?

Well, that one zergling will eventually kill the building, but it is only doing 1/2 damage per hit. So many cracklings which attack fastest out of any other unit will deal 1/2 damage much faster than any other unit. So 12 cracklings deal 6 damage to the building every time they attack and they attack like a billion times per second so thats 6 billion damage.
