View Full Version : XP SP2 on a flash drive
Anybody know if it's possible to download Windows XP (Pro) SP2 and put it on my flash drive so when I get home from work I can install it onto my computer? If so, how?
If you're talking about running Windows XP off a Flash drive, you can if you run it inside a virtual machine like QEMU.
If you just want to download it (legally), you need to be a member of MSDNAA or have an MSDN subscription.
I'm not looking to run it off of a flash drive.
I was curious if it were possible, so I could save myself a lot more time. We've got a fast connection here at work so the download wouldn't take to incredibly long. Then, if it were possible to save on my flash drive I could take it home and install it on my computer without having to wait for my Windows Updates to deal with it. Oh well. *shrug*

So you mean you want to download the whole installer thing into your flashdrive because you have a fast connection at the office and you want to install it to your workstation back home? I think that you need a legitimate cd for that...

Well, If I have a legitimate copy of XP at work, then I should have no problems, huh? I also have 3 legitimate copies of XP at home...
To answer the question at hand; the link Neo gave will download it right to your desktop where you can then move it to wherever you would like it to go. Neo, thanks for the help. :)
