View Full Version : Need A New Game

I need a new game and it should preferably be for 360 since my computer is just a medium range XP comp. The two I am looking at right now are The Orange Box and Burnout: Paradise.
Games with sexual themes or nudity are pretty much ruled out. Any other suggestions?
EDIT3: I would really like Mass Effect/Bioshock. If someone could give me the reason that those both have sexual themes that would be great
I have beaten Portal at a friends house and played TF2. I know I should get the Orange Box, my heart just isn't in it.
Also, I could get Burnout, then trade my friend Burnout for Orange Box later on. The disadvantage is that no one could play Orange Box with me.
What do you guys think? Which of those two? Any other games?
EDIT: After looking a bit at it, I am also considering Overlord due to the three expansions just release. I will be able to get at least two of those.
EDIT2: If you could suggest some good Xbox Live Arcade games that would be good as well. I need one. If it has co-op and decent achievements, all the better.

The Orange Box...well, you could read my review, but just to cut it short:
Five Games. One Box.
You've only played two. However, you can get a much bigger playerbase and add-ons/mods with Orange Box PC. "Mid Range XP" is just about where I'm at (2.0GHz, 3/4 Gig RAM, 256 MB GeForce 5500.)
Orange Box is the way to go. If all else fails, there's always Viva Pinata.

Very funny. I actually played the demo. It was extremely addictive.
Like I said, I would prefer the 360. The only reason my PC is medium range instead of a great high end PC is due to me screwing with the graphics card. I downloaded drivers which killed the card and I had to get a GeForce 4800 or something REALLY low. Most games suck and games like Company of Heroes can barely run, so if I did get the Orange Box I would get it for the 360 probably.

These are also good:
Single-Player:
Gears of War
Assassin's Creed
Orange Box
Call of Doody 4
Guitar Hero III
Multiplayer:
Halo 3
Halo 2
The Orange Box
Gears of War
Unreal Tournament III (if they ever release for 360)
Rock Band
Just a few suggestions. Heed at your own risk. I just play them at a friend's house (and beat them mercilessly), I don't own them.

Thanks. Out of all of those, I don't own UTIII and Guitar Hero III. The rest I have. Thanks though. I will definitely consider the Orange Box.

Sins of a Solar Empire is gettin good buzz (PC strategy). Take a look at IGN (http://pc.ign.com/articles/852/852735p1.html). I hear it runs well on regular PCs (supposedly).
If I was going to buy a game, it would probably be this one. That said, I don't buy games often.

Getting Orange Box is the best thing you'll ever do because it's really fun. :)

More along the lines of $60 for five excellent games. Twelve bucks a game, even cheaper than that for the PC version? Can't go wrong. You're bound to find something you'll like.

hmm...
Well, lesee.
Your comp can't be worse than my old one - 640bm RAM, 2.12ghz singlecore, 38 gig HDD, nVidia 2 graphics card (yes, 2), and these two run fine:
Star Wars Battlefront 2 (F/ThPS, good online play)
Empire at War/ Forces of Corruption(expansion) (RTS)
also, what about halo 3? Apparently among those who have 360s (i. e. not me  ) it's really popular.

Flametrooper, ignore all other game requests.
You want Call of Duty 4.
No. You need to have Call of Duty 4.
...well that or Bioshock. and don't be so hasty to go and buy the Orange Box either. the only thing really worth it on there is TF2 with any real replay value after the novelty of all the other stuff wears off

I have Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3. Call of Duty 4 is amazing. I decided to wait until Army of Two comes out to see how good that is. I have been waiting for that. Bioshock is an option for me as well.
