View Full Version : Weird, isn't it ?

I've been searching for some older threads of mine... or threads in which I have posted. But guess what, I couldn't find them! :concern:
For example, there was a thread "Fan Fiction" made by me, in the Creative Concepts section. Go there, and you don't find anything. But if you go to my profile, go to "threads started by ZS", it's there, intact with all posts... And it was not moved... How come ?

That's because in your User CP's "options" (http://www.warboards.org/profile.php?do=editoptions) you have the "default thread age cut off" option set to some more restricting level, probably set to "forums default" (or you've fiddled it to worse). Change that to a broad time that you wish, like for instance last year. :)

Thanks a lot! I set it to "Show all threads"
You can now /thread :)

Oh oh oh, I have a question regarding an issue relative to this guy's question. When I go to my profile page when I click on my name and then go to find all posts by SHISHKABOB, is there a way to show *all* of my posts instead of just 500?

not sure. you may have to do a search search, not a profile search.

Nope a default search cuts off at 500 too.

I don't think there's a way to view *all* of your posts. If there is, plz post it.

kthx

I think Subscriptions is the way. I have subscribed to every thread I posted and I can view them from CP.

While I'm sure we'd all love to see every one of our posts, querying 4000-6000 entries in a database is noticeably slower than telling it to order by date and limit to 500. Just seems like DoS attack waiting to happen.

Holly Toledo, know that I don't want to see all of my posts... particularly the old ones from my early days at WB's. Those were damn ugly. :P

What, things like this one (http://www.warboards.org/showpost.php?p=132734)? So ironic to write that in a thread about adding a spell checking application to WB. <3

Although you did get the apostrophe in the "it is" correct, which most native English speakers in the US can't do.

Oh, and I found a way to find your old posts. ;)

*Meh* All I did was using the IRC chat speak that I was more accustomed to to shorten the stuff I typed. Sadly, I must acknowledge now that I see it. :P
My English is, and always was, more UK based thus making me pronounce things that some of your US'ers might consider awkward or even wrong (it's centre in UK and not center as you say it, for example) but on the other side it allowed me to write in a more correct manner and be more alert to properly expressing myself (as if it was hard in the 1st place since I always were a 15 grade English student with no effort at all ;)).

And wouldn't that way to find my older posts be to use the date function within the search feature? Just don't spread it out much.

Just tried, and the farthest back you can set the date is one year ago. :-/

That's weird. Using that parameter alongside with the box right to it and changing its option from "and newer" to older presented me with some good results (also assuming that you told it to display results by posts). :P
