I think you should try doing other things and come back to play games. I noticed when I took a week or two break from games and came back, I really appreciated them more.
Maybe try it out ;)

or try this new huge free game. http://rappelz.gpotato.com/
starcraft is cliche
Huh?
Most RTSs today have about 500-3000 people online per hour, Starcraft has over 30,000. It's the most popular RTS, and also the best one at it. What's cliché about it?

Frogot to mention these games take up a CRAPLOAD of RAM and harddisk space so make sure your pc is powerful

RTS:
Super Robot Wars
Battle moon Wars <-- Standalone Mod of SRW
Ragnarox
02-11-2008, 7:47 PM
R.T.S (NEWer, and the last two are resource hogs):
Homeworld 2
Company of Heroes
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
Supreme Commander
Some older R.T.S games:
Starcraft
Total Annihilation
Homeworld
Homeworld Cataclysm
hmm
RTS:
Supreme Commander/Forged Alliance(standalone expansion)
Empire at War/Forces of Corruption (expansion)
other online-capable good games:
Battlefront II
Enemy Territory:Quake Wars
SupCom and ETQW have fairly hefty graphics and compy requirements, but BFII and EaW aren't too heavy-duty, because they're older.

Empire Earth II & III
Obsolete. Rise of Nations takes up less power and system resources and is an all-around better game, focusing not strictly on war, but also diplomacy and resource management.
Half-Life & Opposing Force & Blue Shift
Also obsolete. They were great, but I'm pretty sure almost everyone has played these by now.
If I may suggest:
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II.
The Orange Box
Unreal Tournament 3
Descents 1, 2 or 3, if you're looking for twists on DooM 1 and 2. Quite a throwback.
Also, ZeratulStukov, weren't you banned?

So, I have been absent for a HUGE while... Now I came back to say farewell... But I saw no ****ing one sent me a ****ing PM regarding to why have I been inactive...
So, the following message will be adressed to everyone (Especially the mods), except a few friends I have (or think I have ) on the board....
FareWell and I really enjoy cheese!!!!
Please, moderators, administrators.... Ban my account FOREVER, but do not censor this fucking message.... please... That's all I want...
Goodbye and fuck you !
Damn dunchy likes cheese.
Apparently this did too.
On another note:
Diablo II is a good time waster, but that's kind of obvious.
The Legend of Zelda series is really good, but I hated the cartoony ones. Ocarina of Time was great.
Counter-Strike & company are good for multiplayer stuff.
Also, if you currently own a Source-engine game (HL2, etc,.) Garry's Mod 10 is well worth the (no pun intended) 10 bucks. 20 bucks for a copy of it and just CS:S. (The CS:S box set comes with CS:S, DoD:S, and HL2DM.)

That was dunchy (who likes cheese). All hail the mods for screwing around with angry posters screaming their way out of WarBoards!
Furthering this thread to avoid de-railment by socially volatile members, I have a few more suggestions:
Oblivion, if your PC can handle its graphics. Sandbox RPG's are great for weeks and weeks.
Disciples II Gold, $10 for Disciples II and 3 expansions -- great turn-based strategy.

Dawn of War and it's 2 expansions - Winter Assault and Dark Crusade, are absolutely fantastic RTS'. The 3rd expansion - Soulstorm, is coming out very soon as well.
Civilization 4 and it's 2 expansions are also fantastic for fans of turn based strategy
