Awesome game.
Kicks GTA series right in the balls.

Offers much more than any Vice City game. Able to command gangsters, sell coke, sell kilos of coke, manage your empire, take jobs and replay missions, get awesome outfits. This game has so much in it, it makes you feel as if your "Tony Montana, Politcial Prisoner from Cuba."
Got it Friday and played it the whole weekend. Who's played this raw game?

Then get this game.
You'll have twice as much as fun playing this than GTA. There's just more to do. Also...........it's Tony Montana. Can't go wrong with that.

Well, any game like this is better than GTA, which makes me want to play it. I hear nothing but cool things about Scarface so whenever I get the chance I'll play it.

Scarface is basically GTA. But it is far more realistic than any GTA ever made. All GTA does in each game is add a bit more to make it better. Scarface has everything GTA has to offer, plus things it doesn't.
You can aquire property in Scarface just like GTA. But your property actually has functions, where as GTA, you just save and heal there. In Scarface, you can ask your manager to disturbute drugs, heal, collect income from the store, hire security (Because if you make local gangs mad, they attack your fronts).
This game is also part RPG. As you do missions, you gain rep points which is basically EXP. Once you gain enough, you go back to your house and level up. Then you get more stuff top buy, better drug deals, and better weapons.
THe Mansion has many more functions than GTA. You can store all your weapons there. Once there stored, you can buy ammo for it. You can also pimp it out with stuff you buy at the store make it look how you want it, so it has a Sims 2 feeling. The Mansion also has a weapons vendor.
You can even hire henchmen to help you. You can even radio for your cars that you have. You can even repair any cars you lose and then have them sent. The cars even have a weapons locker that you can use to reload or get bigger guns.
And what you would expect in a GTA game, but is actually never in one is the ability to sell coke. You can sell it grams where you just go to street dealers and get it from there OR sell it in kilos and then take it to your storehouse where you distribute it to fronts to sell there. This yeilds much more income and increases the funds the property you have generates.
Of course, despite these good things, this game is much harder to play.

I want to give this game a try, but I don't have a PS2. It sucks that I'm getting a PS3 and it wont play PS2 games (no b/c). Bummer.

I was wondering why this game got average reviews. It looked good to me.

From the way NightElfking put it, this game sounds pretty fun. Sounds better then GTA because as WestDC said, "I've always wanted to manage a virtual "criminal Empire"' --I'd have to agree. It'd be pretty fun. :P

Dont get happy yet guys. Scarface is gonna be hella harder than any GTA game yet.
For example, the game is realistic. You can't go around holding a gun in your hand. That actually attarcts the police. Basically, if you kill people and then a cop comes, if your gun is still out, your gonna get chased. Then a timer will appear. If you can't get out on the red area that will appear in the bottom-left corner before it runs out, your gonna die, reagardless what you do. GTA is unrealsitc because......let's face it. A druglord regardless what he does is not gonna be able to counter the military. The police will kill no matter what if this happens. Also as you piss off gangs (or the police) consquences will occur. For example, the more you piss off the cops, the quicker they'rr respond to incidents. As for gangs, they may attack your fronts. If they destroy them, you can't collect funds from it.

There is however things you can do to slow or stop this. For example If a cop comes but doesn't try to kill you, put your gun away and then let him come to you. Then you can fast-talk him. If this is successful, the cops will go away.
One of the many new hardships that is not in a GTA game.
