Basic problem is it won't run starcraft on b.net. It says i have a super slow connection but it will (not anymore) run d2, and other games just fine (it really does work with other games). Tells me to open port 6112, but yeah. IDK how! I linked to another thread, and got to my gateway website, but I couldn't log in there ><
Any help would be much appreciated even if it doesn't work
Broadband? Yes? Then we need to know your router.
Or rather you do. Once you find out what kind of router you have, go here: www.portforward.com and look up the directions on how to properly forward ports.
If your unsure as to username/password to login to your router, again, we need to know the model, and we can let you know the default user/pass.

well i'm using the college wireless so i have no idea ><. I'm just using one of the small d-link wireless things to connect to it. (D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G122 Wireless USB Adapter(rev.A2) #3)
Ahh. Then it's a college thing. Short answer is you won't be able to play starcraft online.
Longer answer is you need to ask whoever admins the college network.

The only times that I got to play SC-BW on line in my Uni' (not only through LAN) was due to the fact that I got along with the IT guys there and they allowed me to do so.
Later on, a special time of day was set on the servers that would allow us to do so (from midnight to dawn).

Well it was working perfectly fine for the first semseter. But maybe they changed it idk
If too many people found n' exploited it maybe they closed the port connection that allowed itdue to the bandwidth/dl' abuse.

Would getting my own wireless router solve the problem? (would it still let me connect through the college?)
Highly unlikely since the college's wireless network almost assuredly has different settings from your home wireless connection (starting with its WEP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wired_Equivalent_Privacy)).

hmm interesting. I know some kids that play Wow here so I'll just talk to them, and see how they did it. I thought it would be a cut and dry solution. Well thanks anyways for the help, and info.
