Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I really hate tutorials. I have Photoshop CS2 and don't really know how to use it so I figured I'd get online and look up some tutorials and follow along and get the hang of it. But it seems like every time I try and follow along, my menu bar isn't the same as theirs is or I get lost because I don't know how to find the option box for certain things to chance the properties.
With that said, Does anybody know where to find some good in depth tutorials for Photoshop CS2? I'm sort of looking to dink around with layout type stuff. :)
Picture 1: How did they do this? Every time I click anything on that tool bar it doesn't take me to anything that looks like that. It doesn't do anything for that matter.
Picture 2: Why does their tool bar have more options then mine does?

Pic one,you get that by clicking on the colour bar in the top of the screen second from the left. Not the file ect ect bar but the one below it
Theirs has more options because you have a different type of pen selected, take note of the three squares on the Left hand side of the screen, they have a different box selected, if you select the same box as them you will get all the options they have

You're on paths (the second option).
Use vector masks if that's what they want you to (first option).
Ah, I actually figured it out, I switched my workspace from "Default" to "Web Design" and that fixed some of it. The others it just takes some digging around.
Anybody know of any where to find good tutorials?

rofl thats funny, the web domain made me laugh
oh and btw moser, if you really dont know how to photoshop, i suggest you learn the tools of the trade before you actually try a tutorial or you'll just end up confuzzed
How do you learn the "tools of the trade" without a tutorial?
I've been trying to figure out what the hell all of the crap is in Paint.NET, and it's taking me a very long time and I still suck. There's just no easy way to start from scratch with art programs.
How do you learn the "tools of the trade" without a tutorial?
I was wondering that myself?

there are classes you can take if your in middle/high/college that can teach you the basics of photoshop
and by tutorials i only meant ones that taught you more moderate techniques such as smudging and blending, try to do basic tuts that teach you simple things like adding color or blurring

Just do tutorials and look for the tools, you won't be confused as long as you can string a few bits of logic together and are willing to play around with the tools to figure out what they do
p.s. Thats what I did

I find that jumping straight into tutorials is probably counterproductive. Playing around is always the best first bet to make before trying to use tutorials.
