How do you take them? I would love it if you could tell me!

I dunno. There are quite a lot of these things. I seem to remember a smaller one that was just perfect, but pfft.
Generally most just do a "print screen" and then "paste" into Paint.NET or Photoshop.

Press print-screen on your keyboard. Your screen will be saved into your clipboard. Paste it into a program like paint and save the file.
Alternatively, you can press Alt-Print screen and it only saves the current window. It's really easy to figure out and one of the most underused, not-known features.

For Macs:
Shift + Command + 3 to save a screenshot to the desktop.
Alternatively, you can use Shift + Command + 4 to print part of the screen.

You don't need to open up the clipboard for that. Instead, open up an imaging software like Microsoft Paint (MSPAINT), Photoshop, or Paint.NET and press Ctrl + V (that's your paste key) on the drawing canvas. That should paste your saved snapshot.
