Ever since the beginning of summer vacation. my computer all of a sudden died....Now I want it back because I need XP for some stuff and i still have files in there I can use! When I plug everything up, nothing happens, the screen is black. The computer is on, but acts like nothing was plugged it. Should I take it to a repair shop and spend 100$ on something I could probably fix in a second or what?

Hmm... in your case this is probably something meant for advanced tinkerers. This happened to my Intel Pentium 3 and the problem is that the motherboard died all of sudden due to some outburst of electricity. I tried replacing the main processor and the power unit, but nothing I did fixed it. That's why I had to buy a new Pentium 4.
I recommend that you take it to the service center if you really want to revive it (though if you'd spend more than $100, then I suggest you just buy a new one), or if you just want the data, get a Hard Disk Drive USB Bay to extract your data.
Or just pop the HD Drive out and stick it in a different computer.
Doesn't necessarily need a usb drive enclosure.
Be wary of service center peoples. Many are sales people in disguise, specially anything like *dogs, or *squad.
