Been thinking about buying a new car. :D

I find as I get older that Christmas is just something that costs me a shit load of cash.
One kid wants a butterscotch pony, one kid wants a PS2 so she can play the brats games. (Bloody Brats, its freakin kiddy porn, my wife thinks I overreact to it.) And the boy loves nothing but Thomas the tank engine.

All worth it in the end though, as a father I get to have all of Christmas as my Christmas present.
It really is a fine feeling to sit down with your wife and children for Christmas dinner, every one is in a good mood, it's always a great day.

I was thinking about getting some thing small and sensible but now GMH has announced the 2008 Cadillac is going to be released in Australia so..... hmmm.

Double word. Anything I do want/need/could use is either too expensive or I already have it. There's no nice medium things I can ask for. (that I don't already have) It is very annoying when your mom keeps harping on you what you want for christmas.

Dutch people usually don't do Christmas the american way , but since we skipped St. Nicolaus celebrations at our home, I'll get a new desklamp/light around Christmas from my mother.

Better than not being asked because you can't afford it, IMHO.

All I really want this year is money, I'm saving up for a car and for a kiln. Anything else that I want (a few books, etc) can be purchased with said money.

What I expect is a hundred or so from my parents and/or a few little things I ask for, and varying amounts of money from relatives, probably not exceeding $200 total.

There with you mate, and for the mother too :/ And now its double the amount because me bday is soon too (very soon:P).. But a few bucks for a night at a gig and a bluetooth adapter for PC (or what they call those things) will do nicely...
I cant choose gifts AT ALL, my sister got that skill but not me, i hate it, i cant even choose for myself :confused:..

At least I dont get a pair of socks each year like my grandfather does ahahhahaha

I'm not really hoping for anything specific, but there's a small list of things I'd love to get, One of the New Gen consoles, A perfect grade gundam model, a new laptop, some dnd/tabletop RPG books, Anime DVDs, hakama pants. I usually just request cash though, most of the shit I want is obscure as hell to find.

Yeah I know, right? Last year I got a good haul, my parents got me a $300 digital camera. I know that if I had asked for cash, it would have been $50, tops. The problem is that there's no way I'm getting a car unless it's my parents' old one, and a decent kiln costs several thousand dollars, so that's not really a viable option either. As long as I have something I'm saving up for, and not just a random desire for cash, I usually come out okay.

As for me, I'm asking for money this year (just like I did last year, and on my birthday...). All the stuff I want is ~>$200, and no one in my family has that much money to spend on one person (and I'm not greedy enough to demand it either). I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar though, so my parents might be buying me an electric guitar set. :)

One (maybe two) of my friends is/are planning to buy me a present for Christmas. I told her not to, but apparently that's her "thing". I really hope she doesn't, then I'll feel bad that I don't have something for her :(

I want the orange box! Just when I thought my life as a gamer was over, I found out my computer could run it. That was a pleasant surprise. I'd been replaying Diablo, Starcraft and Morrowind 'till I was blue in the face, and getting pissed.
What I'd REALLY want is an xbox 360 or competent computer, but no way am I getting that.
