Fan Fic Plot Outline

Daniel Willerd, an engineer-to-be, must conduct a component study on an an old battlecruiser during the ship's 3 week tour. The stick in the spoke however is that it's already been over a week and a half and he's only barely managed to write something solid! With fear of academic failure in his heart, Dan, with the aid of a covert friend, takes lengths to slowing the ship's course so that he may complete his study in time through the guise of a temporary navigational mishap.

But as the 'Cherry Tree' lies marooned deep in protoss space, Dan must come to terms with his uncanny ability to put the lives of others at risk.

The idea itself is neutral to me, for now. I wait for more.

I'm a large fan of antiheroes in general -- so if that is the way this is going I am definitely intrigued.

I've done some brainstorming, and it seems this could make a good series. :)

Part 1: Cherry Tree (rough draft, quarter finished)

Part 2: Dan and 'The Labs'; pushed into another more advanced internship for more undercover training to become a part of the confederacy's cloaked project to create 'super engineers' (Dan is given augments, as the learning phase is considered inhumanely possible to learn or memorize to the extent of the duration; additionally, only some, particularly gifted personalities and professional-centric minds with attention to detail and analysis could make the reqs and the GPA that caught federal attention) in what was simply thought to be a top-secret research agency and an attractive point of interest for conspiracy theorists (of course, they were all wrong, and it is never known whether or not the feds have top-secret research agencies); the long zerg mexican stand off and the failed rescue and escape attempts that become desperate

Part 3: The Extinction of 'The Labs' and Dan being forced into working for the Confederate Resistance with the rise of the Dominion; the extinction of 'The Labs' virtually whipes it from recorded existence, and Mengsk never knew it was real

Part 4: Dan becomes close companions with Samir Duran, and falls in love with a ghost chick along the way (untalkitive, but sexy... she actually spends much of her time delving into the thoughts of others)

Part 5: The UED invade, and Dan's leader, Samir Duran, eventually abandons him and the others; previously caught in the middle of a rough invisible war with the dominion that suddenly went out beneath their feet, Dan's friends are thrown into the same war but of a different kind: a more direct bloody war with the support of a very forcive backing; while he himself must desperately evade UED suspicion of his own uniquely augmented nature as well

Sorry for the spoilers, but they're just shitty plot outlines. I'm still brainstorming the series.
