Maybe its just vista but I have tried to install starforge 2.2 on my comp as well as SCXE 2.6 and I haven't been able to get them running. Starforge always gives me this message when installing:

File conflict: A file being copied is older than the file currently on your system. It is recommended you keep the existing file.

File name: C:\Windows\system32\itircl.dll

It also does the same error for:

C:\Windows\system32\itss.dll

Then it gives me an error saying it had a problem registering the 2 files and uninstalls starforge.

What happens for SCXE is I fully install it then when I go to run one of the five editors (P12, Alternate, Base, Special) it doesn't run the editor. The computer just minimizes the Wizard and doesn't run the editor.

I've also tried Scmdraft 2 and it seems to working fine.

I have downloaded SCXE and Starforge from multiple sites (Starcraft.org, Stormcoast Fortress) and I'm beginning to wonder if there's a problem between the editors and vista and if it can be solved. Can't do triggers in Scmdraft either :(

I've heard that Vista doesn't support old programs like starcraft so it probably won't work with starforge.

Try putting these files into the file the editor is in.

Well its looks like it moved on from the missing system32 files to a new error

COMDLG32.OCX or one of its components is not registered correctly: a file is missing or invalid

I have vista and the x-tra editor works for me. When I open the program, it minimizes the launch wizard. Then I click on the wizard in the bottom right corner of the screen where the time and some programs are shown and I choose the editor under "Launch Editor". I haven't used starforge on this computer yet, so I would not know about that. It might depend on where you are installing the programs as well.

Do the same with this file.
