Anyone know how I can extract ALL the game dialog, not unit speech or sfx, just triggered story dialog from the levels and the mission briefings. I want to imbed them in a fleshed-out version of Blizzard's "The Story So Far..." for my wife. She plays World of Warcraft and I want to try to get her interested in SCII. I've tried using DatEdit to open the dat files I pulled from the StarDat.mpq, but it didn't work. Thanks!

I think you just have to go through the levels, because that's where the text is stored, but I could be wrong. Also, there are some good places to get information for the story thus far. The manual was pretty extensive.

I was going to play through the whole game with FRAPS running and edit it down, but when I try to set Starcraft's affinity (it runs on both processors) I'm denied access... The problem with recording the audio while playing is that a lot of times there are battle sounds playing at the same time, which would make it difficult to understand if just listening. Has anyone been able to rip the Campaign scx's out, maybe I could pull the audio from them?

Yes AchinFish, you can extract the campaign's maps from inside the game's CD's "install.exe" files. It's easily doable with WinMPQ and it's reference file list (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=13285). ;)

And welcome on board too, btw. May your stay be merry and plentiful. :)
