View Full Version : Dodge The Spikes 2!

Well, I thought I would make another dodge the spikes map to see how much I could spice it up. And I thought that it would take a day or so. It ended up taking me a week (most of which I was trying to get lurkers to stop unburrowing :rolleyes:).
Well, I finally succeeded. I think it needs some fine tuning, and some suggestions on what to add might be nice. The map is in an unprotected state, so if you want to take a look at it go ahead. I have some weird bugs that I've fixed, and I want to make Hard the Insane, and the Insane even harder. The Wall Killers were to prevent people from camping next to the walls :).
I think I'll make an example version, with all of the triggers laid out nice and neat and organized.
So whats you guys think?:_poke:
(I think the easy level could use a lot harder things too).

P.S. Hell, it is about time you guys see a map made by me xD.

Dodge the spikes 2 has been made by O)10badboy01 sorry :/.
Although since this version is still cool you can call it version 3 lol.

fine, dodge the spikes 3, w/e. Not a big deal. Besides, its not like akar stole the map and put his name on it.

my problem with the map is that its ridiculously hard, even on the easy mode.

All right, I made some changes... to make it easier.
Easy- 0 Wall Killers, 1 Larva every 60 seconds, 4 Lurker Stacks, No powerups, Larva spawn in middle. Allied with Player 7.
Medium- 2 Wall Killers, 2 Larva every 60 seconds, 4 Lurker Stacks, powerups, Larva spawn in random East or West. Allied with Player 7.
Hard- 4 Wall Killers, 3 Larva every 60 seconds, 5 Lurker Stacks, Larva Spawn in Random positions.
Insane- 4 Wall Killers, 4 Larva every 60 seconds, 9 Lurker Stacks, Larva spawn at all 4 spawn points (Which are much closer to the middle now).

Changes:
- Wall Killer's location is now 3x3, it used to be 4x4.
- Spawn positions moved inward.
- Fixed glitch with Player 5 spawning a ludicrus number of zerglings.
- Map renamed.

EDIT:
New Edit. Well, it seemed kind of bland. So I added a system in which you get points for being next to larva, and the first to 1,000,000 points wins.

The anti-wall camping is a good idea, and having the larva be unallied with in insane is also :D. I just wish my zergling didn't die a few seconds after I picked the difficulty, and a million points didn't take so long. I like the map though SilverCrusader.

Ahh, but I have an update for you all. I lowered the points to 25,000. And you receive 100 points for saving someone.
To me a map is never done. So more suggestions would be welcome!
I also fixed a bug in which players 2 - 5 would not ally p7.

I humbly suggest that the zerglings be invincible a few seconds after they appear, because mine keeps dying before I can select it.

I had the same complaint, but it seems SC likes spawning the player on top of the spikes.

If he would have done like I told him(auto center view) it wouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, I'll edit that. Lol Ahzz, you and UMS maps don't get along well eh?
