Is there any way I could change the theme of the map without needing to remake the whole things. I would like to do a different terrain but have put to much in to remake it. I doubt this is possible but I thought long ago I heard an editor could do this but that may just be my bad memory.

Any Ideas?

You do mean changing from badlands to desert, or jungle correct?
If so:
1. Download SCM Draft 2 (http://stormcoast-fortress.net/downloads/scmdraft2ZIP/?PHPSESSID=d933114af33856d67f7ed131a3ea05f9).
2. Unzip the zipped folder.
3. Open the unzipped file.
4. Run the .exe file.
5. Select the Default profile and press ok.
6. Press Ctrl + O.
7. Select your map.
8. Press open.
9. At the menu bar go to scenario and a drop box will show.
10. Click on Map Dimensions.
11. Select the tileset you want.
12. Press Resize/Change Tileset.

There will be some... icky stuff... I guess you could say from switching terrain.

Yes, scmdraft'll do it. The thing is, each tile in your map is assigned a different value, which responds to a stile in another tileset. Unfortunately, not all tilesets utilize the exact same value system for everything, so if you have compound in one map, and you switch to ashworld, well, ashworld has no equivalent, and thus your compound will be come a random blob of shit.

Just keep that in mind.

As said above use scmdraft...
Before switching save a backup of your map and save a copy of your triggers, just in case something goes awry.

Thanks. I had dld it but could not find it. I was able to decently copy and paste over ugly spots and do some touch ups and now it works loads better. Once the map is done in a few days I will post it up. I seem to have most trouble getting the stats of units even. Although I hear this is common for the inexperienced.

Balance takes time. Its one of those things even experienced mappers spend time fine-tuning.

If you wanna know the best terrains to change into, jungle, snow and desert are the best ones. Ashworld and Installation don't work..ever...
