Hello, I am new to the forum and am having an issue. I have been a long time SC player but never have made my own map, only minor fixes to others. I have now worked on one for several hours inspired by the MTG card game.

My Issue though is that my map wont show up on the list of available maps to play. I can load it into my editor though (scx and scmdraft, scx primarily) but that is all. It was fine half way though when I saved it a few times to show a friend progression. Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to have waisted several hours.

you need to find your file in the editor and move it to a location you'd be better able to find it. If possible make a folder called "portfolio" in the main map directory and leave it there. Then just look for the folder.

Either you can't find it properly^ or there are two other things that could happen;

• You made an error in your map, like removing or forgetting to add "start locations". SCMDraft allows you to save a map without them, but a map is required to have them to be played. That's one of the only possibilities I know.

• You save it as a 'Brood War' map (.scx) but you only ran and played StarCraft Original, maybe on accident or something. Under Brood War, you can play .scm and .scx maps. Original only plays .scm.

Thank you for remembering that. I didn't even think about the editor being the problem. I wouldnt be surprised if thats what happened to him.

Thanks. I had all of my starting locations but I guess SCX did not like where I put them with my other editor. Thanks everyone!

By scx you mean starcraft xtra right? If so what version because 2.6 has that bug fixed.Also what version of Scm Draft 2 do you have?It seems you only use another editor due to certain reasons(ofcourse I could be wrong).

Also the most common reasons why a map wont start are-
You saved it in the wrong folder,you saved it as a scx while playing it on sc orig,or the simple start location mistake.Once in a while there is also the terrian bug that crashes the map(it is weird trust me).
