I don't know how many here have heard of this, but I now use this INSTEAD of iTunes to listen to music. I will give a quick run-down of it and you guys can find the rest out for yourself.
Pandora is an internet radio where you type in an artist or song, then it will create a radio station that plays songs like the artist or song you typed in. You can thumbs up or thumbs down each song and depending on your rating it will play more music like what you want. Pretty cool. Check it out.

As pointed out by Outcast, apparently people outside of the US can't use this.

If you can't access Pandora, you can always try last.fm (http://www.last.fm/). It's slightly better in some ways, slightly worse in other ways, but it can be used by anyone, in my experience.
I preferred Pandora until it got really restricted to US users. Last.FM is almost as pleasant with their music pick but their navigation isn't as smooth as Pandora's was. Simply put, Pandora a year or so ago was better (read, more user friendly and compelling to keep using) than Last.FM currently is.

Pandora is great for light listening, but will start repeating songs about 2 or three hours in.

Found out about it like 3 years ago and used it a bit here and there. Stopped afterwards. Too bad it's restricted to US customers, would love to try it again.

The only thing I have against it is that if you don't sign up they'll play about 3 songs (none of which are the ones you searched for) and then stop saying "oh btw you have to sign up if you want to keep listening to this lol."
Otherwise it's not bad.

But when I used it at least the registration was free and I believe it still is. Quite worth it just to make a few music stations with your tastes and then start enjoying it. ;)

Yeah, I started using Last.FM a week ago or so. I was actually about to post a thread when I found this. :P
It's pretty neat stuff, especially for discovering new artists that you'd never heard of before.
Irish', the same stood for Pandora when I listened to it. And to be honest its diversity was more compelling and allowed you to make a more eclectic pick after you registered. Last.FM needs to have a program installed and ain't sure if the registration was free as Pandora's was.

Yep, it's free to sign up. You can also play it via your webbrowser if you wish, no downloading needed. Only thing I don't like is that you can't search for specific songs, only artists.
Think I might check out Pandora tomorrow, Last.fm has its flaws.
That's why I preferred Pandora. More accurate aiming if ya wish. If I don't like most musics by Eminem (not entirely true, btw :P) why do I need to listen to most of'em if ain't allowed to pin point my selection narrowing down if willing to please me more?
