I don't know about the vanilla SC editor, but the SC Xtra editor lets you do it. In the display message screen, you'll see these bars to the right with an associated color. Copy and paste them before the text that you want to be that color.

Yeah in order to make players different colors you need atleast a anceint program.One that hasn't been used in forever like gueedit.
Or used a advanced editor like scm draft.

So you mean in breinfingss words being different colors if so then any editor(I think) can do so.
Still I would suggest using scm draft.
In startedit you copy the color code and paste it in breifings.

SCMDraft or SCXE are what you need.

green=<07> OR <18>(18 is player 9's color)
red=<06> OR <08>(08 is player 1's color)
grey=<05> OR <1E>(this one is bluegrey)

green=<07> OR <18>(18 is player 9's color)
red=<06> OR <08>(08 is player 1's color)
grey=<05> OR <1E>(this one is bluegrey)

Sometimes it's not working. I was trying it several times, prefer SCMDraft, works always.

SCXE or SCMDraft 2 are the ones that I recall being as most reliable to use the colour coding/blocks in your maps.
And for SCMDraft 2 the (more basic) colour codes are inside one of the *txt files that came within the editor pack. ;)
