I haven't added doodads yet, and I haven't done anything with the theme except for some long ramps and a loooong bridge in the middle (not sure if that looks good or not). Also, I've sort of used protogod's idea of transitions for the ramps.
edit: whoops, i forgot to put an expo next to blue's long ramp.... aren't i smart?
edit 2: there, i fixed it.

Wide ramps to the main don't really work. Terran's are very exposed early on and will have trouble defending. There should only be one or two small entrances to the main.

This can actually be circumvented.
Of course, having 2 wide-ramp entrances to the main (not even mentioning the small min blocked one) is too much. I'd leave it at one entrance and rework the terrain around the xel'temples.
in order to make the wide entrance to the main more T-friendly, i'd push it back more towards the edge of the map, so that T has more room to wall off his nat. The wide bridge is nice, but I'd throw in a couple large doodads around the middle in order to give T a fighting chance as they push across the map.

Took out the side ramp and mineral blocked ramp, made the wide ramp a little smaller to closer to the edge, and I added A TON of doodads. I actually think I over-did the doodads a bit...

Damn...you're a lot better than you were when you first joined WB!

Better. I agree that you over did some doodads, though.
Just take out a couple of the trees that you put right along the bridge and it's infinitely better. Also, you NEED to remember gas at the natural, or make an easy second natural that has gas.
Other than that, I actually like the level of detail you put into this map, and although the blends are iffy, they are buildable, which offers a slightly different element of gameplay.

I did notice that although the middle of the map has a lot of detail, the mains were untouched.

which im sure will be remedied before final grading. It's only the first day of competition. He's got 30 more of them. :o

Okay, I added critters, took away a couple of the trees in the middle, and put doodads onto the mains.

I like it. Just tweak the doodads and expo entrances to make sure it's all balanced and conducive to fun gameplay.

You might try chopping the long bridge into 2-3 bridges of equal size with a small water seperator in the middle. Makes it less of a Python middle (Python sucked because of the boring battleground).
Also, seeing as there's no gas at the natural, Zerg will have a very unfun start.

Agreed.

What do you mean? I have geysers everywhere....

Python sucks ass if you're playing as Terran. I only won 1 game on that map of around 15, and it was because I managed to lure his entire army into a trap in my choke (only place on the map I could dare to setup my forces).
The difference between having nearby gas only expos and a min only nat from a normal one is that it is harder to defend 2 expos than one, and requires a lot more money.

T can play on python if you use micro-intensive strats (instead of just macroing tanks), or if you just use the ramps effectively.

What ramps? There's nothing in that map but highground mains and a nice open P middle. The wide ramps in the corners are a far cry from usable, just as vulnerable as the middle.

Do you mean like this?
And my map's attachment is apparently "in progress", so here's the picture.

The thing is, if you're gonna go with titan's idea, you need to clear up some doodads and everything so that it doesnt have an inordinate amount of clutter.

Nevermind then, I like the long bridge anyways.
