After a rather long time of inactivity, I've restarted mapping! Yay! :P

Here she is. Feedback is welcome.

Version 1.1
-Deco finished
-Gas at top/bottom exps switched over to adjacent min only expos
-Previously mentioned min only expos' placement rearranged
-Two bridges in the middle by the expos have been slightly widened
-Mineral blocks removed from natural backdoor to encourage them actually being used

second expansion may bee just a wee bit too far away, but im not sure. Maybe its nothing.

ah sorry for double post, but I noticed something...

It's too hard for zerg, which needs fast alot of gas, to actualyl receive a second gas expansion. They're all so far away, except in the middle, which is almost impossible to keep, atleast thats the impression I get. One way could be to switch the 12 and 6 o clock expo places so that the gas expo would be closer, and mineral only further away.

But right now my hard personal opinion is that its too hard to receive second gas expo, especially for z

nothing much more to add for now. I think its an astonishing map too

yes switching the 8 and 2 o'clock gas to 12 and 6 expoes should balance it out. I can't think of much else anyway.

i think the mains can be tanked from the nat.

you can also tank most of main from behind the wall separating the main from the rest of the map.

raised jungle is in theory the same as 'temple', however, you should remember that people can see to raised jungle even without flying units/scan, while on temple, they can not. This MIGHT cause problems if the enemy is doing things such as, lurker drops over it, muta harass, carriers over it vs terran with goliaths, etc. I suggest that both are raised jungle, or temple, or atleast, surround the red mineral only raised jungle with temple so that you cant see 'inside the cage'. However, even then you should remember that if lurker/tank drops are possible, they should be as possible for both.

Not a major issue, but it's worth looking into.

I really cant imagine it making a major difference for carrier harass.

The 3 mineral patches have values of under 25 each, I don't see them making any difference ingame. As for the raised jungle, well I'll change it if it's a problem, but leave it for now.

Really, when I do my carrier harass, gg lol.. which if they destroy them I get mad and obliterate them, lol. But IMO, great map, can't really say much about terrain cause it > me, besides I like.

As I plan to submit this in the Dec contest, I'd like some feedback (specifically from Proto) on what I could modify to fit the theme better.

Critters, I take off a point if you don't have them. I suggest putting them in some closed off area that has an expo.

He is a judge in the Dec. contest though. And I too prefer use of critters. Though it is possible to get full points in aesthetics without them, having them used properly takes the edge off, difficulty wise.

I don't use critters because they serve no purpose other than to be an annoyance. I completely disagree with SC docking points for no critters, but I'll stick a damned bengaalas if it means another point...

It's purely aesthetic, and I really don't see it changing the tide in a game.

Where did you get that impression? I simply don't like putting critters in my maps, nor do I like being required to do it to recieve a desirable grade.

It's such a minor non-issue. Just put them on unreachable raised jungle or something. srsly.

The whole point of it. If you really really despise them, leave them out, but the rest of your aesthetics better be flawless.
