View Full Version : Unit Properties not working!

I'm making a map that involves the spawning of units constantly, and these units have to be invincible and burrowed/cloaked ect...But they're not. The units AREN'T invincible, but ARE burrowed. They're also not cloaked. Also, when I go to make more triggers, it says something among the lines of "Cannot create more units with properties", which is something I don't understand at all...What do I do to fix this?

You've exceeded the unit limit, and the properties thing what editor are you using?

It could also be that you are trying to spawn units in an invalid location...it might be too close to a wall or buildings.

I MIGHT be using staredit...
If I WAS, it would be for the triggers. SCMDraft 2's classic scares me, and SCXE doesn't work on Vista (Or something)...

How about you just let us see the map so we can diagnose it better. There's nothing wrong with SCMDraft's classic, it's nigh identical to Staredits, the only thing its missing is loading and saving triggers. If anything, it's far more functional.

Agreed and agreed. It lets you select the neutral players and the StarEdit's hidden triggers and units instantly, even though on occasion for it accept your changes you must've clicked elsewhere on that window before switching to the next trigger/exiting that window.

"Too alien"? I think that you've been hitting on the funny stuff too much. :P Apart the SCXE's triggering (which is from the same authors as SCMDraft 2, btw) it's the closest thing to StarEdit's trigger editor.
And it's not our fault that you don't want to get used to Classic's trigger editor capabilities as well. It's well worth the time getting used to, I'd wager. ;)

It'll also work but you won't get'em to burrow automatically, except if you set an AI over'em with the Burrow ability researched by default for that(those) player(s). Just not to mention that it'll end up being heavier in trigger wise terms. *Wink, major hint*

Oh, and burrowing isn't a problem. The lurkers work beutifully, and that's all that needs to be burrowed. The problem is the lack of invincible-ness.
And just a question, but is there a way to make this:
All players
If Jim Raynor has less than 50% HP
Then Set Jim Raynor's HP to 100%
or something like that? I think not, but it's worth asking.

Well I can tell you something first off you aren't gonna get anywhere using the default editor.Second use Scmdraft 2 or atleast SF.
Anyways for your trigger showing us your map would help 100%.
Btw:use SCM DRAFT 2 ver 0.8.0 :p.
Also for your jimraynor trigger I don't think that would work.Although you can use a vHP.

Gah, first I'll work out all the other problems (I actually have solutions for those), and I'll post it on later. No clue what a vHP or whatever is (or maybe I do, I'm never good with the vocabulary)
I'm not what you call the 'best' editor, and I would LOVE to use SCXE right now, but I can't install it on vista, and you guys didn't help me and told me to use scmdraft 2's classic instead (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=30484) (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=30484), which I don't like at all.
Yes, I use the 0.8.0 one.
Kankuro', you can use SCMDraft 2's text based trigger editor that already comes with the map editor as I showed in my previous picture. ;p Although for you to properly use it you need to learn it's syntax from the *.txt files that already come inside the folder where you placed your SCMDraft 2 after extracting it from the archive installation file.

I've tried using the text based trigger, and I can't get it right. I'm sure I'll learn it soon. And what picture, Basan?
Anyways, more on topic: Is this problem caused by the fact that I'm using Staredit or is it just a general error?

If take a peek at those *.txt files inside that editor's folder you'll learn it in due time. Also another thing that could help you out is to open a few of your finished maps with SCMDraft 2 and see how their triggers ended up in the text based version. ;)
And sorry about that picture mix up (http://www.warboards.org/showpost.php?p=549807&postcount=5), I though to have presented it in this thread but that clearly wasn't the case. :P

No, StarEdit should run just fine because it's the Blizz's default editor that comes with the game. :)
That, except you're running it on a Mac' since some of it's OS's tilted with it. Or in the eventuality that you're running it on a Vista 'cause it also sometimes quirks with the game too.

Well running it on vista should not cause any problems if he has the ued turned off.(I hope I finnaly got that thing right lol).Vista surprises me it runs with starcraft so well,anyways for scm draft I see no reason why you are having trouble using it.I learnt it within a week.(and that after changing from SF LOL).
