Well, for those of you that keep track you'll know that even though I'm on these boards I don't play any Blizzard games. Anywho, about a week ago my friend gave me a trial version and I started playing. By Friday I had a level 20ish Hunter and was getting pretty into it so I bought the retail version and here I am :>. The rest of my roommates are starting to get into it too so it should be interesting.

I also started a Rogue just for poops though he's only level 9 so far.

Anywho, just wanted to say hey to all you WoW players.

Also, for those of you with some time could you perhaps take a look at my character (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kil%27jaeden&n=Heritikyl) and tell me what you think. What could I improve on (especially equipment wise)? I also know my talents are really odd for a makeup, I'm doing some research and will probably pay to reset them so I can plan it out more.

Hunters ftw.

Anyway, there's nothing to say about gear, really, until you start hitting the late 60's or 70. Gear for hunters early on is basically take what you can get with Agi and Intellect, and if you can, some gear that has an attack power bonus on equipping the item.

It's basically the same until 70, when spec differences may change the way you gear.

Talentwise, go BM. BM is the premier spec for anybody who isn't 70 or who doesn't have at least 610 agility. Marks is gimp now, and as you get to later levels you'll realize it more and more. Survival is fun, but levelling survival would be equivelant to not spending your talent points.

Scottie is correct. Beastmaster for leveling, as it gives your pets bonuses regardless of gear (so your talents aren't gimped by gear), and pretty much ignore gear aside from pushing for agi and getting good guns. (Go make friends with an engineer) At your level, most stats won't make a huge difference no matter what you do, and the best you can hope for in terms of enchants is some sort of proc.

I'd also go look up what animals are more or less effective, I know my hunter used a level 4 tiger from echo isles up to 20, but that's because it was so very cute :D. I've heard turtles and crabs are good tanks, raptors make good DPS, and bears are in the middle. Boars I've heard are excellent due to the charge ability, fair HP, fair armor, and fair damage. Windserpents are popular, but I think it's just because they used to do elemental damage and they look cool.

You want a cat for levelling. Their stats are melee stats, they have fast attack speed and are the best DPS pets for endgame. You CAN use whatever you want, since it's your pet, but by endgame cats are the main thing to have, other than owls (which can use screech and have only slightly less DPS). With scorpids getting fixed, thats really your only choice end-game.

As a BM spec, and with the fact that you won't be in Karazhan gear for a while, you're not going to notice yourself pulling aggro off a cat with growl any more than you would off a bear with growl.
