I don't know much about Tau, but if the Crisis suits are together, the Burst Cannon looks a bit lonely with all that anti-tank stuff. Would it not be better to have units like this more specialised?

I actchualy put the missle pods in there so i could have good long range fire power, but it's a burst cannon or a flamer

I would suggest getting the markerlight upgrades for the Shas'ui in your Fire Warrior teams, and perhaps a few marker drones as well.

Additionally, I'd go with the Shas'O over the Shas'el, he's worth the points. And get some more wargear for that commander.

If you want a flamer for your Crisis team, I would recommend adding an additional model, because you will always want a Burst Cannon or two in your team, or a Plasma Rifle if you can afford the points.

Fire Warriors are useless, gun drones are your friend.

Fire Warriors are useless

They're useless if they aren't backed up or if they get assaulted, which is why gun drones go well with them. But if you have enough markerlights and each team takes a turn marking and another disembarking and firing, it really whips the tar out of infantry. Add that Burst Cannon on the Devilfish to the fray along with perhaps a Crisis with a heavy weapon as well as those Gun Drones and this one team of Fire Warriors is capable of not only engaging, but annihilating almost anything of equal points value....except for say, a super-heavy tank.

thats for the advice but the few people that i have talked with have suggested that i make a 1000 point army before anything else, but when i get everything for my 1000 point army, i'm going to plan for 1500/2000 that'll include this army and allot of the other thing you have suggest, like gun drones, more XVs , a Shas'o along with heavy support.

EDIT:what wargear would you suggest for my commander?

If you are going for the 1000 point army first, I would suggest dropping the Devilfish for at least one of those Fire Warrior Teams. Everyone loves mechanized infantry, but sometimes extra wargear upgrades like markerlights work best when the team is not being shuffled around everywhere.

As for the commander, it really depends on what role you want him to play in the game. For instance, if you want your commander to go forth and kick ass ahead of everybody else, then I would suggest either keeping what you have on him now and add a Stimulant Injector. If you want your commander to be a commander, then I would suggest getting the Command & Control Node, especially when your number of Fire Warrior teams begins to grow.
