Chris Metzen spilled a lot of lore information. We learn about Adun, Khas, Doran Routhe, Selendis ... even Stukov.
.. indeed. it's been on sc.org's frontpage since it was posted on SCL. :P

One thing that puzzles me is how Mr. Metzen approached answering the questions concerning Stukov; specifically, he said that Alexi was freed from the swarm long enough for he, Raynor, and company to escape Braxis. Does that mean that is de-infestation was only temporary, or possibly incomplete? After all, we didn't even get so much as a 'he went his own way and nobody has heard from him since'-type explanation concerning his whereabouts; instead we are left completely in the dark.
Then again, I *think* Chris Metzen said in an earlier interview that Stukov would not, in fact, be returning during the campaign. So either he is lying (which is entirely possible, given their interest in preserving the surprise of the story), or we won't hear about his exploits--if he has had any at all--until the obligatory expansion.

It was a new nanotech technology; I'm not surprised it might not work perfectly.
If you're talking about what he said during the Lore Panel, he seemed really unenthusiastic on the topic; I thought he muttered "why did we ever think the Nintendo was cool", but the sound quality isn't that great. He then let
Andy Chambers say some stuff:
"Andy Chambers: "There's a fascinating subject in the realm of infestation. It's something that gets touched on with Kerrigan. It's kind of interesting to investigate it with other characters. So Stukov is kind of ... that was an experiment really, for the Zerg in terms of infesting other humans and leaders."
Then Metzen commented (jokingly?) that Chambers pulled that out of his ass. With a couple of months passing from BlizzCon, it seems Metzen and Chambers have added a tiny bit more detail to what happened to Stukov.
It's still possible Stukov won't be appearing in StarCraft II. I'll be fine if he appears, but hopefully only in a minor role.
BTW, the storyline is still being written. If Metzen says "we're not featuring so-and-so" in August, he could change his mind by, well, next August (and not update us on that), so he's not lying.

I like how he made it clear that the Cerebrates cannot survive without the Overmind. Although I kinda worry I might miss the whole overmind feel of the Zerg.

The interview was about all of Starcraft. Blizzard never made any mention or even alluded to the notion that Stukov would be in Starcraft 2 during the Metzen interview.
They asked specifically about Stukov, and that's why they mentioned him. It doesn't even come close to being "proof" that he is in SCII
