I am SunTzu and I am here to play Diplomacy. This is the great nine player Diplomacy variant, that I am positive all of you (Or at the very least, most of you.) know, based on 1600 A.D. Euope. I expect this to be a great, fun, and challenging game. We will be using the standard rules. I expect the game to move quickly, no more than three days between new maps.

Im sure Brain will do well as sweden though. I never intended it to be "outplaying", I know the road into Poland is one similar to trying to wrestle a giant bug (BB :) ). But we'll see what the next few turns hold.

Incidentally, I played Poland when this variant first ran on BF. I was brutally butchered by Sweden, and then Russia, (and in some cases both simultaneously), but with due help from the Habsburgs and the English (Cygnus), I was able to hold ground to some extent. I lost the game in the end, after fierce battling from both sides. Although I do believe my allies mopped up the resistance on polish ground after I myself was wiped out from existence.

Well, there is some internet here. I'll post up my orders quickly if I have time. For now, I have to go to the gym to play some badminton.

Badmitten is alright, but racket ball is just crazy (I played with a friend a few days ago). I dived onto the floor like three times and then when it was 18-18 slammed into the glass trying to get the damn ball. Still in pain heh, but nevertheless have fun (although Badmitton is a bit more well slow pased).

But still remember us poor folks sitting around having map withdraws. :)

You must be playing against some really bad people if you think badminton is slow paced. You wouldn't believe how fast it is. Then all of the things we are doing... Well, lets just say that I was extremely sore this morning, with aches all through my body. There are a lot of things going on, in addition to the 6 hours of badminton and training. I'll see if I can get my orders in before lunch ends and I have to get back, if not, I will get them in before or after supper.

OboeGuru brought up to me via IM that Denmark's move to Zea was ilegal. I originally thought this was allowed but after viewing the map rules at Variantbank.org they mention nothing about a land bridge connecting the two provinces in question.

In older versions of the map the two provinces are clearly connected but in 2.5 and after you can clearly see a sea zone sperator between them. I am now going to change the map to correspond with this new ruling.

Another small note, my support in Bessarabia should not have been cut by the Polish attack from Cracow.

Remember the rule:

Support is cut if the unit giving support is attacked from any procvince except the one where support is being given.

(except of course, if the unit in the province that is attacking has enough support to dislodge the unit)

Although this doesn't change the result of combat at all, I just wanted to remind you so later in the game this won't affect any... key battles.

Also maybe you should wait until after the fall retreat phase to allow territories to change hands. It doesn't really matter of course since you can just count the differences in units and SCs to determine how many units must be built or disbanded for the number to even out. So whatever you perfer.

EDIT: And maybe change the color of the name of a territory to the one that best goes with the color of the nation. The white title of Mil is almost blinding. :p
