I assume you've watched the terran gamplay demo, thus heard the line "[ghosts can now fire a sniper shot lethal to biolgical units]". Either the presenter or speach preparer guy sliped up, or the zerg are royally scewed(all bio).

massed ghosts = no zerg defense.

This should probably be in the units thread.

But here's your answer.

1) The sniper shot is a special ability. As such, it just can't be used that often.
2) Ghosts probably still won't have that many HP. For this reason, you're sort of saying that HT mean a Zerg army is screwed. Which is sort of true, but doesn't imba the game.
3) Assuming OL carries over, Zerg have the easiest mobile detection.
4) Ghosts will probably be hella expensive. Massing Ghosts would take too much time and money: in the mean time, your base gets over-run. Whoops.
5) We have a little more detail now: the sniper attack does something like 150 dmg, and Zerg will probably have a couple units that can take that, meaning you have to use two shots.
6) In summary, the counter to mass Ghosts is probably mass lings. Not that mass Ghosts really needs a counter, because as (4), if you let your oponent mass Ghosts, you suck.

See? No more problem.

He's right, even though a Ghost can maybe kill one and two zlings instantly with his sniper, if there are hunderds of them it's not possible, not even if you got more ghosts.

well then, i am at ease.

i just had horible visions of ultralisk and buildings(they are bio also) exploding left and right.

good to know that's not true.

Buildings aren't biological in stats. Ever noticed how you can't irradiate a sunken colony?

actually they are bio. irradiate won't affect sunken colony because it is a building not because it isn't bio.

Yes indeed. The Ghosts would get overrun by lings in a heartbeat.

Don't exactly recall to where have read it but I believe it to be in one of the Q & A batches (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=28772) that told that the Ghost's Sniping ability could kill relatively low HP organic units. If those are amassable or not (read, multiple Ghost hits) that's a whole new question. :_poke:
