Just start the download and do something else for a while. It's much better than the shitty youtube quality or waiting for advertisements and slow download speed on IGN.

Unless you absolutely MUST stare at your computer screen watching the green bar make it to the other side for 1-2 hours, it's not a waste of time at all.

Ahhh, so that's how the cobra takes out the Thor.... well, divide them into two groups and bet one group directly behind the Thor, and the other player's pretty much dead. Can't see how you get Imba from that...

ive heard reports of wait times up to 6 hours! for the video to finish dling due to some lag problems with the download connection
heck one guy tried to dl with dial up and this is what he got
"Time remaining: 43 Hours 53 Minutes. Just dont use the phone!"

god, i dled it and the quaility was horrible. i mean, not the graphics, but the sound wasnt in sync and the graphics kept freezing. god. and i can play all the other sc stuff fine.

so you want to place a cobra in front of the thor and a cobra behind it? i think the thor is still fast enough to kill both cobras...it did take on 6 cobras i think, and killed 4?
if you can fix this or confirm it plz do

Not A cobra behind, a whole bunch - plus, 6 cobras to one thor with 4 losses... doesn't sound too bad. How many vultures would you need to take out a seige tank?

You forget one thing.

Multiple thors > multiple cobras. They would gang rape them before they could get off to many shots.

@ Sushi: Also keep in mind that the cobras were making a pretty wide circle. If they had all been closer to the Thor they could've circled faster and they would've lost fewer cobras.

@ DarkMirror: You're right, I never thought of that. lol, there goes that counter.

well Multiple Thor > Multiple Cobras only if the thors can micro.

Standing together with their size might not work well but if the player can micro the thors NOT to turn and shoot whichever cobra is in front of them then gg. If not then all thors will turn to attack the same cobra.

Also, would seige tanks be a good counter to thors? It showed they had a pretty long cooldown time, so if you spread tanks out in a circle around it and seiged them would the slowness of turning and attacking make it worth it?

Also, maybe you could micro 2 vikings to bring down a thor. 1 lands behind it and starts attacking, when it turns around it lifts off and the one behind it lands and attacks, etc. Or would the AI go for the flying one that couldn't attack it anyway?

well one thor with a lot of marines= psi storm. Similar stuff in sc1 with tanks and rines. Some get shot down.

one thor with tanks= banshee??? maybe??

one thor with vikings= siege tank spread out alot. with some form of aa..

Multiple Thors= cobra
then micro competition.

Banshees are looking rather ineffective against heavy armor. There were like 12 of them shooting those missile turrets for a while and they didn't even catch fire.

another problem with the cobra/thor counter is time. Do you think you have enough time to keep queing positions for your cobras until it finally goes down? and what if the thor moves out of the circle o decides to move counterclockwise...then woulndt your whole plan be in the trash?

That's (the mech dismantler) not so great for balance though because then it has no use whatsoever against the zerg. Starcraft hasn't got any units like that.

Due to the long time that they take shifting through modes I'd say that the Thor would cream most of them easily. Just not to mention the circling micro practice that would take to pull such a move while being fired at by said Thor(s).

Provided that we saw Thors firing both ground and air I'd say that it isn't much feasible either.

It can be a special ability no?? EMP does shit against zerg lol. (well you could emp their spellcasters..?)
