View Full Version : Being drawn to Chaos.
I really like my gaurds but after reading the latest white dwarf, with all the new chaos goodness. It makes me want to start a chaos army also (which i will prolly do at a much later time), who else has more then one army?
Prolly one of the reasons for this is, there infantry are more unique people, whereas Gaurdsmen are just massed people noone cares about there names for example (thats what id assume anyway, plus iv always wanted to use an "evil" army)

I have a chaos army, of which I mix and match models for form several different legions. I also have a harlequins army of the really old rules, well I guess my chaos army is old rules too now. I want to collect more armies, I always want to collect more armies, thats how it goes. Its best just to stick mostly to one though, so then you can develop a really cool army.
EDIT: Also, I always think of imperial gaurdsmen as sort of SAS dudes, really well trained and have really tight movements and actions, covering each other constantly and never exposing themselves. But they are in a universe of supernatural beings. I always think normal people like us stats 2, our guns are strength 2, our skills/accuracy are WS/BS 2, our bodies are strength 2 and resolve toughness 2 and training initiative 2; through extensive training, being born in a society prepared for a planet wide war, where everyone is in the army has improved them to 3. But its just that they are facing superhumans, you see a threat then aim then likely miss, guardsmen aim at the same time as the threat pops up then likely hit it, spacemarines just fire and hit, no aiming or being caught offgaurd. A bloodletter probably jumps between bodies and the walls tearing gaurdsmen appart from a distance with their sword, however guardsmen are trained not to hesitate, they just follow the daemon and fire, calm and well trained, even if the daemon is beyond them in everyway.

Chaos is evil in the same sense Orks are: only from an Imperial perspective. Chaos has the potential for good, and from the perspective of a Chaos Space Marine, all he wants is to serve his god, or failing that, live free without rules.
Hmm, i see what u mean the races that are "evil" arent really evil there just fighting for what they believe in.
Id say i will get another army going in the future but i want to develop/play/learn the Imperial Gaurd before i start the same on another army or even a WH fantasy one.
