Ok, here is my map for titanwings map contest... It didnt really work out as I planned on the paper, but whatever. in any case, if you feel like it'd need some modifying, just point out.. Also, bear in mind that this is NOT final. huge lot of decoration etc is missing. just tell what u think otherwise.

EDIT: I added alot of decoration so it looks better now. it only needs testing now, unless you guys have something to note ~~
EDIT2: Okay, lammy told me something and I realized he was correct. Anyway, I opened the map up just a bit, otherwise it would be too hard for P/Z to flank. Also, I added some decoration and the starting places etc are no longer symmetrical this is pretty much the final version unless I realize some mistakes through testing.

I like it.
I don't like the mineral wall at top, it *might* be better to just open it, but maybe that gives the players to much ways to go.
And i would like it if grass and stuff doesn't grow exactly the same on the two halves of the map. But that's purely aesthetics.
the mineral block only has 800-900 minerals.
also, I made it look soo much better. i will post it soon probably

I'll comment my opinion after you submit it as "final"
final is pretty much up now

I meant final as in you submitted it for judging, so that my advice wouldnt be used against me in the competition.
In it to win it, baby.
aha. still gonna add a bit more decoration before that.

try to use mirroring as a template. you're going to have to redo all the little cliffs. It's a nice concept otherwise.
what are you talking about? all cliffs are perfectly symmetrical. the whole map is. I made the whole map with "mirror X".

exactly my point. this is a jungle pallette and mirroring doesn't really work. In rare cases it might but this isn't one of them.
Mirroring removes the "jungle" feeling. Take a look at Titan's Aeon. It's pretty much symmetrical but not exactly. That's why it looks like a jungle.
ok lemme tell one thing.
1. kawagata is a judge
2. kawagata talks shit and asks me to possibly imba the map.
sorry but if you judge the map like that, im out of the contest.

well i'm really talking about aesthetics. Perfectly symmetrical maps do not work in a pallette like this. Try putting this in space. Be more optimistic?
sure. I just hope you realize how many jungle maps you just killed. wow. lemme count... oh wait, there are too many of thems to count. wow. very smart judging system eh?

I think he means that you've to randomize the 'splashes' of jungle and dirt etc more so it feels less symetrical while in fact it is.
no. he means the map shouldnt be symmetrical overall.

Slow down guys...
OK, Ahzz. Great map, very well done. All I can really ask of it is to have you go through without mirror tool and deco (dirt, jungle and ruins) different on each side of the map.
I can't find anything else wrong with it. The layout is unique, looks like excellent racial balance and mirroring removes positional balance as a problem.
All that's left is to improve aesthetics as much as you can.
yes fine, changing jungle stuff etc is fine, as it has no difference on the map itself. ill do that. thanks ;o

you asked me to do something stupid and since you're even one of the judges...

i asked you to redo the center cliffs. The unoccupiable little ones. You don't need to change the shape to redo. The mirror button is usually just for making the general shape. It shouldn't be relied on so heavily unless it's the space pallette.

mind telling me how it'll be imba though? Just changing the stuff inside to be non symmetrical, same shape and all.
No difference at all except aesthetics.

I wonder if Protogod was serious with that last one...
Kawagata's suggestion would not make it imbalanced, because it would just change the outlook of areas which are passable only by air units, so that it would look more natural and not man-made. Both sides of the map would have exactly same kind of walkable areas.
You know, those areas filled with so small cliffs that land units cannot fit there? Now they are symmetrical, which does not look very natural. The general shape of those areas must be symmetrical because of balance, but it doesn’t matter if it’s symmetrical or not inside the outer lines of those areas.
Oh my, I'm not good at explaining things like this in English. Hopefully someone understood.
Okay, just about final version is up. I wont be modifying this much anymore, unless I realize some mistakes through testing.

Not happening.
ok new version up, some minor things made better. its ready for judging.
Looks extremely difficult PvT. Short push distance, plus high ground right out side your natural. As a random player, I would definitely prefer to be the Terran against Protoss on this map :)
Then again, if toss doesnt let terran get to that position, toss will have a huge advantage in defending. plus it's easy to flank and very easy to go all the way around even to his main while his army is pushing to your natural etc.

One incredibly minor thing you could fix is put the geyser at the bottom of the map between the minerals (like the side expos on Gaia).
Miners could get units stuck trying to go through there. I know it'll probably never be a problem, but I thought I'd mention it anyways.

I really wanted to like this map, but it's just too difficult PvT as Protoss. The distance between the two naturals is so short that if your protoss army is out of position for only a few seconds, it basically means you're dead. I lost a PvT vs. someone that I am around 10-0 against, and he's never really come close to beating me, but because a group of my army was dealing with Vult harrass down at the bottom expo (3rd expo, not the one at the very bottom), he was able to easily push to my natural in a matter of seconds, and with the high ground, and the time that it took for my army to return, it was all over. As protoss, if you want to win, you have to go carriers, and maps like that are not very fun.
Also, the mineral block on the ramp at the top causes some pathing problems. Why not just have it open? And if someone actually tries to take that mineral expo at the top that is used as a block, he can only have one miner per patch unless he wants his workers running all willy nilly trying to get to a patch. The main problem though is that the map is just too small, combined with the high ground outside of natural, makes for an easy push, which is hard to break.
