Ok, here is what i have so far

HQ
-Senior Officer/Medic/Meltgun/Vox/Commiser - 120

Elite
-Ogryns - 250

Troops
-Platoon 1
Junoir Officer Squad/Commiser
Infantry/lascannon/vox
Infantry/lascanon/vox

-Platoon 2
Junoir Officer Squad/Commiser
Infantry/lascanon/vox
Infantry/lascanon/vox

Fast Attack
-Hellhound - 115

Heavy Support
-Lemon Russ Battle Tank/Heavy bolter (onboard)/Dual Side Heavy Bolters - 155
-Basilisk/Indirect fire - 125
-Basilisk/Indirect fire - 125

Total - (excluding platoon) 735

Im going for a mass amount of ranged firepower, hopefully fend off the assualts with the flamers/orgyns, the sents are there just to defeat enemy vehicles, alot of damage is going to come from the back with the basilisks/Lemon Russ.

Anyway, thats my first army list feel free to give me feedback.
(yous better give feedback =P)

You technically only have 1 troops choice.

for IG, one slot is 1 platoon, the list on the troops page is for the squad, (60pts + weapons + upgrades), but you need 2-5 squads and a command squad with junior officer as a single troops choice.

Also, give your vehicles and characters stuff from the armoury! =/

Ahh so one Whole platoon is one Infantry space, interesting.

that's why in a large army, you can have at least 250 guardsmen just for troops choices. 1500 points of guardsmen, with no upgrades, and I'm not even counting the command squads.

Honestly, I'd drop a basilisk for another russ... but that's just me...

Grab some heavy weapons too, lots of them, unless you are drop troops then every squad should have a big gun.

You need a hull mounted weapon for the russ too, its compulsary, sponson weapons arent.

Oh, and I thought basilisks were only 100? Or have they released a new codex when I havnt been looking?

I'm not sure, but I don't think they're 200.

And as singo said, heavy weapons ftw. There's not enough AT stuff in there, in my opinion. Missile launchers or autocannons would be your best bet, both are decent at taking down infantry or light vehicles.

hmm i see, (this will be my first army so thats why its sloppy lol).

Ill adjust the list acordingly, after i check the codex out some more/

So would lascannon teams be alright for AT?

Hell yeah, best AT weapon available to the Guard.

Make sure to keep them behind other stuff if its a dedicated AT squad though, they attract incoming fire like no buggers business.

So only deck a few out with the lascannon teams, hmm interesting, havent had time to update the list but ill do it shortly.

Just need to adjust the infantry and the tank

And yeah, your basilisks are twice the price they should be, even with the indirect fire option (advised) they are only 125 pts.

I say id misread it lol, hmm that means i get more gaurdsmen yay!.

Ok, i updated the list, Another question how much would the Platoon be worth (im not too sure how the points work for platoons yet)

singo

480, but you still only have the one platoon.

If you drop one of the Infantry squads, get a command squad with the points you saved and then split the 4 remaining squads between the two platoons then your two compulsary troops choices are filled.

I need to suss out the codex some more, so what is really lacking with that list atm?

If it adds up to 1k with the second platoon, not much.

So go out and hammer the enemies of mankind!

ke what you need is to get 2 or 3 battle forces and you will have enought of everything to play a well rounded army
