End of a Season
The Diablo II 1.10 Ladder Season 1 will soon come to an end and Blizzard would like to thank all the players -- New, Returning and Veteran alike -- for making this a great Season. As a special treat to reward the Top Players from around the world, we will be immortalizing the Top 10 Expansion and Expansion Hardcore Characters in each of the 7 Classes on the Blizzard website. That's 140 players from each Realm!

Season 1 Ladder Characters will be moved to their own 1.10+ population when the season ends. Be sure to check back here for details on future Ladder Seasons.
So everything is going to be deleted at some point and everybody will have to start anew? What is the point of this then?

Try again. All characters we now have on ladder will be immidiately changed to non ladder status, and all ladder only items can finally be found on non ladder. This means that any Gheeds fortunes... Metalgrids... Stuff like that, those will be worth boku SoJ's and runes. Also, any runehogs will become rich, as I understand runes are the currency on Non, rather than SoJ's. Lastly, the new season will start anew, and you will have to retry and get to level 99 the fastest. Basically, we don't know when it's happening, but that's what WILL happen when it's time. Hope that clears it up.

Those are just examples. There are many more. Those will be freaking insane to get once Ladder's switched over. That will be like a trading haven for stuff... Expecially Gheeds and such. Those things are nice ^.^

By insane do you mean increadibly easey to get? I played a little on non ladder last night and the games were absolutley hacked, kill a zombie in act 1 norm and Talrashas armour falls out, some guy had atleast 2k magic find on his hacked char. It might have been a onece off game (I hope) but still there will be so much shit out there you would not have to trade.

Also we don't need to dl a patch or something do we?

He meant that those of us on ladder who have found these items, will be able to trade them off for outrageous amounts and get anything we could possibly want.

That is if ladder characters get dumped into Non-Ladder, some people, like myself, are theorizing that we will get dumped into a "end-ladder" realm where all the rest of the ladder characters from here on out will be dumped to.

We also play on something called "closed battle.net" you know, where things arent all fucked up. Try not playing on open battle.net eh? Thats not what we mean by non-ladder.

Noone's quite sure. Blizzard has announced it's over soon, but they haven't stated a day.

Also a friend said something about Augest but I dont know'. I figure Blizzard would give us a little warning.

Uhm I am thinking like within a couple weeks, if not days.

I was wrong, we get dumped back into non-ladder characters.

Closed Battle.net is the "Battle.net" on the main menu of Diablo II and its where caracters are stored on the realms, instead of on your computer. The other battle.net, Open, is where people can do basically anything they want. Have levels of 200+ skills all having 99 base points in them, etc...

I see, I see. I was thinking that if a character wasn't made as ladder then it wouldn't be stored on the servers. nvm.
