How can i make a unit owned by a player unselectable for that player?
Example
If i create a footman for player 1 red, how do i take away his control of the unit without changing the ownership of the unit?
Please help me if you know an answer to this question

You... can't. There is no way for any person to have controll over another player's unit unless you do one of the following:
1)Possess with a Banshee
2)Convince your ally to "Share Controll" with you during the game.
So 2) would be your answer. You can controll the little red footman, but red keeps ownership of footie.

Hey, thanks for replying my to my post. I forgot to say that the owner of the unit shouldn't have control over the unit either.
The ownership of the unit i needed for a trigger...
Fixed it by making a variable of a unit, and called it PlayerRedUnit, and so on.
:)
Thanks for your help anyway

trigger:
event: player 1 selects a unit
condition: unit equal to <footman 001> (variable)
action: selection-clear selection for player 1...
this makes it so that the unit is unselectable...
Ive just been answering some old questions, by people from the new group.

you can also use the magic "Charm" to take control of enemy units, but not your frendly or ally units.
