Yesterday I set my computer to standby (stupid decision) and Windows crashed upon wakeup. So I restarted and my BIOS didn't even start up and my monitor didn't show any screen (it wasn't even 'on').

I turned the power off and on again and this time it worked.

Is my power source unstable?

Probably not. If it happens again, it may be the cause though.

Some hardware has issues with standby/suspend mode. Just don't use it and you'll be fine. All you need to do is turn your monitor and speakers off if you leave for a few hours. If your computer is mostly idling, it doesn't suck much power.

What operating system, brand, and model is your computer? (also if you know this how much memory do you have, whats the processor speed, and type)

I think we found a solution four days ago.
