Hello. I've been having this problem with Starcraft after not connecting to Bnet in a LONG time. It's saying that I'm trying to connect to an invalid battle.net server, even though I chose "US West". My friends are able to log on, but I am unable to. Here is the picture:

Please help me, I want to get onto battle.net. Thanks in advanced.

Theres alot of things this could mean. You might need to reinstall sc, or run an antivirus scan.

I have gotten that message before on my old laptop occasionally.
Usually it was fixed by either rebooting my computer or actually opening up my internet browser before starting SC. I have no idea what causes the problem so if it persist I don't know what to do.

Yes, it really could be any number of things. That is a generic message that blizzard wrote up when you cant connect. Maybe basan can offer more insight, but right now I'm at a loss for anything that could continually cause this type of error, unless you have a virus as per my first post.

Well, you might have a bad internet connection, you know, like that phone line unplugged. I had that message before, and found out what is printed above.

I gave my CD key to a friend once.
He removed SC and it worked after that.
From my brief experience with similar error msg's that happened to me a long time ago - around v1.08 if recalling right - when I edited the B.Net servers addresses with a 3rd party application (just to play over an private network without drawing much attentions towards us). If you know the addresses of the servers you can try to edit it back to make it work. Although if the problem persists after a few attempts on different daylight times it'll most likely either be the current 'net connection conditions you have or you will have to uninstall and reinstall the game.

You're screwed. Like, totally screwed. If you're unlucky it could be a virus which your antivirus cant find. I had this problem. I fixed it by completely clearing my computer from every data possible. In other words reformat. My computer was also recieving other problems. If it's sc only, don't reformat it.

Yeah, I had the exact same experience, which was alluded too earlier. Viruses can be a BITCH.
