View Full Version : Lag Issue

Just a little problem I have when trying to play people in BattleNet.
Heres the situation:P
Well um, whenever I seem to try and play games with more than one person in BattleNet, other than myself, it always seems to lag heaps and at the same rate each game. Because of this I have NOT played ONE game yet! I want to! The lag is very serious because a unit moves about every 3/4 of a second, which makes everyone quit and of course making me quit too.
I do NOT have a router.
I have Nortons Antivirus, sadly though...
I would love it if someone could tell me how to fix this. I have tried port-forwarding it but I'm not entirely sure how to do that. I searched on PortForward.com but when I did what it said to do it came up with all these IP virus's.
Help would be highly appreciated!:)

Well first off if you don't have a router then port forwarding is practically impossible unless there is something in your software firewall. My suggestion you you would first be to turn off Norton's and really just get rid of it all together and get something else. Norton's is a resource whore and just eats up everything.
Also every time you have tried to play on battlenet are you hosting the game or have you tried joining other games?

It really depends, and we need more than just that, can we have a list of your system specifications?
If you don't know how to find them, press start, click on run and type in dxdiag in the text box than press enter, it will take a while to load the screen, but when it is up copy down what it says on the first tab, than close it.

I'm trying to join games.
It might be because I have ADSL and some people have cable, I dunno. My dad yelled at me and suspended me from playing SC for a week a while ago when I turned Nortons off.
Anyway I have another question.
Why do some of the games have weird fonts and ingame they talk with these *&8&* and stuff? I don't get it!

that is alt code, you just have to hold alt down and type numbers on the num. pad.

i have the same problem... but i live with it, i think the reason why i lag is beacuse i have wireless in a city, because my computer is very fast other wise. mabee i should try going on battle.net with my virus protection off...

Parents who don't understand how the data transfer and antivirus works shouldn't be dictating about it what to do and what not to with it. I assure you, nothing will happen if you turn your antivirus off while playing StarCraft, if there were people that would send stuff to your computer they would of been doing it long ago, antivirus really doesn't protect you from stuff sent as things from gaming, but blizz's battle.net is so well done you need not concern yourself with that. But if your surfing the web and stuff I'd stick it on.

I turned the AntiVirus off and it still didn't work. It must be because I have ADSL or something else I don't know!
I do NOT have a router and I'm positive, 100%.
Anyways the writing isn't like that the writing appears on the game names and as werid L symbols upside down and stuff with an S stacked onto another.
