Ahzz & I are curious as to whether or not you experienced the ability to select multiple gates/barrackses at one time. We're concerned with the noobifying of sc2.
Isn't that just a given? Considering that its like that in almost every other current RTS?

I don't really care anymore...
As long as the races follow the general theme of SC2, the game is balanced, I can afford the upgrade to my computer and most importantly...that it's fun, I WILL buy SC2.
I honestly don't give a shit if it's too "nooby" for the Koreans to play for a living.

my sentiment exactly.
For the sake of the argument, being able to select multiple gates won't exactly make this much easier for noobs if the gameplay remains similar. Macro is already the most basic aspect of the game, and this won't even help you much with it anyway.
Starcraft is an RTS, for it to not include something that most people expect, just because a minority think it will "noobify" the game is unbelievable.

i think its fine if you can now select multiple barracks or gateways, yes it does noobify the game or w/e, but itll also concentrate the game more on strats then on clicking abilities

Does the Ghost drop pod ability create 6 marines out of thin air or do they have to be built already and positioned somewhere?
If they are just summoned out of thin air then does it cost minerals? Would it allow you to pass the pop cap? And what actually holds the nuke? The shadow ops building? The munitions building?

dont know anything about the drop pods,really, but it looks like there are nuke silos, or they are held in munitions facilities.

id be more concerned with drop pods. I mean a nuke you can hear about and try to run away from etc.
If you attack and suddenly 3-4 drop pods show up behind your troops, you're fucked.

+points for pointing that out proto. i think the drop pods are even more deadly then the stalkers ability to blink which i think is very similar to the drop pods cause they both allow you to flank your enemy or catch them by surprise

Yes, there are. The most obvious being with the Ghost's headshot ability. The Terran infantry just drop dead, as opposed to being blown apart by Siege Tanks. Probably not for biological Protoss units since they just fade in a screen of energy or w/e. But for all other units thus far, it depends on the situation.

I don't think ghost's sniping ability would effect protoss units at all. Since all protoss units, including their infantry, is surrounded by shields. One sniper bullet wouldn't cut it against shields.

Yeah. When Reapers die sometimes the jetpack flies off and sometimes they explode.

Most noticeable is the Marines however.
Collossus causes them to spray blood out their helmets and fall to the ground.
Zealots rip them in half.
Explosions cause them to die in a similar fashion as before...blowing up.
Ghost's Snipe causes them to spray a small amount of blood from the face and fall to the ground.

You can select multiple gates/barracks and select a unit to build. The implications of this can be argued, and we'll see if it carries through to the final product.

There are. Some are based on the type of death, splash/direct .. others are based on which unit kills it. Some were still pretty graphical, which at times made it hard to tell if a unit was actually dead or not. I suspect this will change a bit.

As proto said, no release date was set.
Browder and the entire Blizz team are going to release this when it meets their standards, so read whatever you want from that.
The storyline will involve the Xel'Naga, however no one knows for sure just to what extent, though I doubt we'll see a playable race .. probably more like the Burning Legion taking a role in the story but not playable.
Both games were playable at BlizzCon, I have been promising a write-up of my extensive time with the game and I'll try to get that up this week for you all.
Regarding the storyline video, we'll look for a better source, but for now it should work, make sure to check your settings inside your browser.

I think the Zerg units that need to watch out are:
1. Queen
2. Ultralisk
3. Devourer

Ultralisk is the heavy assault unit of the Zerg. It can be compared to the Terran Siege Tank. It has to stay. However, queens and devies.... idk.

I don't know how many pro PvZ MUs you've seen lately, but let me tell you Ultraling is a common practice there. I hope the Ultra stays, although the Devie can go IMO.

I dont. But keep in mind, most of the old units are gone, and the new ones mean new stats. So ultras, if they stayed, might be useless.
Ultralisk is iconic. Look at the StarCraft Ghost video. Here are the units shown:
Marines - IN
Firebats - OUT
Dropships - IN
Mutalisks - IN
Zerglings - IN
Hydralisks - IN
Ghosts - IN
Ultralisk - ?
Out of all those, only one unit has been dropped, and that's likely been replaced with the Reaper. The Ultralisk A) Still holds a role in the Zerg army as a heavy shock unit and B) Is a highly iconic Zerg unit. When you think of Zerg, you think Mutas, 'Lings, Hydras and Ultras. Units like the Queen, Devourer and Defiler aren't as iconic (the Defiler will probably still come back though, since it's so useful. Just possibly in different clothing.)
Sure, the Wraith kinda got ditched too, but it's probably one of the more surprising loses, like the Ultra would be. If the ultra does indeed 'suck', they could always buff it.

Thats alot of stuff, dude, especially given that the defiler was useful and the ultralisk was very common.
Everything is on the table in terms of getting cut or changed.
Try not to stay too attached -- everything has the feel of the appropriate race but isn't always the same.
I didn't miss the wraiths at all, you have plenty of air options now. Nor did I miss goliaths or any other replaced unit. The game changes and you change with it.

Defiler is definately the coolest spellcaster. I would be very disappointed to see it leave, even though I'm a Terran/Protoss player.

I wish the Defiler would have a stinger on its tail so it could be more like a scorpion :D. It would be cool if it also has a melee attack that not only does a fair amount of damage but also POISONS biological units so they slowly lose HP. Not like Plague, as this isn't splash and would only apply to bio. units and decrease their hp at a slower pace.
IMO, just an idea for the Defiler.

Agreed. It takes away from the uniqueness of the Defiler to give it an overused "poison" type attack...or any physical attack in general. It's a dedicated spellcaster.
