View Full Version : Resolution problem plz help

This has probably been asked before but..I recently got a new computer and put starcraft on it. I have all the recent video drivers and directx 9.0b. Starcraft game resolution is gigantic and I can't figure out how to make it back to normal! :( I already checked properties of SC on the desktop and none of those boxes are checked at all. Plz help me fix this!

SC is designed to run in 640 by 480 resolution. Nothing you can do about it.

But it was't this big before. Units are gigantic and area I can view is smaller.

try right-clicking on ypour desktop, selecting properties, going to settings, and changing it to 1024x768, i had the exact same problem, except reversed, SC was way zoomed out and everything else was way zoomed in.

Its probably just caused by your new monitor being a different size.. if you got a new moniter for your new computer.

That res change didn't help and no, its the same monitor on the new computer. I have no idea why everything is so much bigger.

I noticed something else about this altered resolution: it's cropping off the top line of the screen so I can't see minerals, gas, or troop count. When I take a screen shot and then look at it in a picture viewer though, the screenshot looks normal. The screen can't be adjusted to stretch or constrict the display to fix this problem

Meh. Try PMing a mod and getting it moved to tech support?

try adjusting your screen settings on your monitor. If its like mine then then you press the 1 button tom get to the menu, where you can change size and position.

Do this and it will help with the crop, but maybe you havn't played SC for a long time and it looks different to you, that's what happened to me (after playing tons of UT2k4) ;).
