Getting Latency down?

I was wondering...not many people can join my games....my Latency is too high...how do I get it down?

The only tip I have is:
-turn off MSN/AIM/ICQ

It might help to turn off other CPU-intensive programs as well. I always go on a faster computer whenever I play SC online, since I live in New Zealand and my lag is naturally quite bad already.

You most likely have a firewall or router on. You'll need to open some ports. Follow this (http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/N101145.asp#RM356Anchor) to open the correct ones.

You may have a firewall on your computer. turning it off might fix the problem (disable your firewall at your own risk)
