Everytime I try and open StarEdit, it wil do the following:
If I access it from the system, it says it's:
"An error has occured.
This program is not compatible with the current system"
If I access it from the game it just shuts down.
I am using Mac OS X 10.4.9 Tiger

Mac's error messages are so much better :D
It basically told you in plain english what is wrong >.>
Wait, you tried to access it w/o opening SC and you get that error message?
... maybe you'll just have to open SC and use it.

Tried. Are there any other user-created Map Editors? I know StarFire or whatever but that requires the original file, StarEdit.

Try XP. SCMDraft works fine on my computer which has XP on it.

You need Classic or MAC OS 9 to run Staredit.
If you don't have that, it won't work.
If you have a Intell-mac, you can run Cross-over/Paralel or w/e it's called, so you can simulate a Windows enviroment (And thus run the Windows editors)

So, there's no way there'll be some update? I would really like to make some sort of map. And I don't have the money to get Parallels. I have Boot Camp but it doesn't run on Vista. :concern: I made mods for Halo, I think I could be good at that. :D Wait, when did the last update come out? I wonder If I could run the StarCraft campaign editor on windows? Hmm... I can't run StarCraft though. :(

Try getting one of the advanced Mac editors. StarFire or w/e it's called.
Windows has the best when it comes to mapping, so it looks like you're out of luck.

StarCraft Demo? What? StarCraft -Don't know here- Draft 2? I don't know what you're talking about. Oh ya, is there anyway to duel-boot OS 9? Oh, now I know what it is. I'll try it. Thnx. I hopefully don't need StarCraft to use it.

Uh, that post was kinda hard to read.
I tried Starfire myself, but it will NOT work without Staredit, as Starfire first starts staredit and then loads the special new features in it.
So without MAC OS 9 or Classic, Staredit won't load and gg no re starfire.
^ That could ofcourse be different now , i haven't used the program in ages because i hated the lag.
So meh. I'm lucky to have both OS X and OS 9 installed on my computer.

Look up SheepShaver- it will let u emulate an OS9 enviroment on mac for free if you have the startup disk

Or, if you do not have a Intell mac , you can just buy the OS 9 system for nearly nothing, if it's still on Ebay or something.
